Contrary to some previous reviews, I didn´t get to see the farmers market or the antique fair, and even failed to find any bohemian characters, although I did sight a tour group taking in the sights. It´s a large square with a fountain in the middle and a statue of someone important on one end, some pretty flower gardens and... More

If there is a place that you can feel the night vibe of the city, than this is the place! In a wonderful piazza in front of a spanish-colonial-like-style church, you can spend the whole night having dinner in one of the good restaurants, a drink in one of the friendly bars, or just sit on the stairs of the... A great little piazza, home to Gustopanini, and also a fabulous antique market on Sundays. Got some handmade curtains and a scarf, but there was much more that caught the eye, if only I had the luggage space! More

We was so impressed, really felt we were apart of the locals, quiet, tiny, little streets, I can't wait to go back. I love it there. I went to Mass at the church 2 or 3 times, but the caretaker wouldn't let us stay, he closed the church immediately at the end of the Mass. We were so disappointed. A... More

Great place to sit back and people watch. Generally, very few tourists hang around here, so you get a real sense of the city here particularly at night. More

This is the "Bohemian" part of town where artists, students, and locals congregate to sing, dance, hang out. More

We visited the Santo Spirito church and piazza during a recent trip to Florence while seeing attractions in the Oltrarno section of the city. We quite liked the streets leading into this area as well as the square itself, which had much more of a ‘local square’ feel instead of the tourist heavy feel of the piazzas in the city... More

When I lived in florence, this piazza was my favorite, always full of life at all times of the day. Still 8 years later on a return trip, it has the same life. We happened to be there on the once a month organice farmers market and were lucky enough to purchase some fresh pressed olive oil, organic chiante wine,... More

Square beautiful and welcoming. The church that stands in the square is pretty much like all the surrounding buildings. More

we happened to stay in an apartment near Pitti Palace and discoverd the Piazza by chance We went everywhere in Florence; museums, galleries, churches. The fondest memories however were of the Piazza Santa Spirito as it allowed us to get a glimpse of real local life and feel part of it. The local market on the square is on most... More
