This was the climbing of the Il Duomo and it was definitely physical. You can NOT do this if you are claustrophobic in any way. It's 463 steps to the top of fantastic views of the entire city of Florence - definitely worth it - but on the way you question your sanity. My guide Bennedetta and she was fabulous... More

Angelia (guide) was the best! We had a small group and walked right past all the lines and we were allowed access to places others were not able to go. The views from the interior dome, the roof catwalk, and the exterior dome peak were breath-taking. Angelia's knowledge of the Church and her GREAT attitude made this a highlight of... More

This was a great tour to get the inside information about the Duomo and the highlight is to climb the dome. What an incredible view. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable.

Although it was raining in Florence, the tour went ahead as most of it is through the basilica. The guide was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and guided us through the basilica first then up to the terrace where we stepped outside and took in the views. Those not wanting to continue on up the difficult interior were able to turn... More

The itinerary is great. Perfect towns, interesting vineyards, 1st class lunch but our well-informed and friendly guide, Valerie, made it fantastic

Enjoyed the skip the line and knowledgeable tour guide. The view is fantastic - best in Firenze and the climb exhilarating. Would give it a 5 except it's pricey.

Great to know all was fun and informative. I do feel sorry if you have considered the price high despite all. Access to vatican property church and dome areas is a very expensive activity for us to run too... that is the main reason the price for our guided activity might seem high. I would love to talk to you... More

Nice boutique-like shop, small family business, with authentic products: wine, beer, cheese, home made jams, extra-virgin olive, spices oil and much more. Livio was very welcoming and knowledgable and described how products are made and how they get the characteristics which makes the quality. A great experience, helped me to learn and appreciate good quality in products and support small... More

This is a great way to see the cathedral and learn enough about its history and architecture without being overwhelmed with facts and figures. Our guide, Benedetta, was fantastic and was able to answer any questions the group put to her. There are a lot of steps and you need to be able to negotiate small narrow passages but the... More

A great value. We left Florence at 9 am and returned at 8 pm. An amazing day with 4 stops and included lunch and wine, truffle oil, and balsamic vinegar tastings. Our guide was so nice, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this company.

Our guide was very energetic and knowledgeable - her explanations were excellent and very engaging, which was tough with a tired group of tourists at 2:30 in the afternoon. If that weren't enough, the ability to "skip the line" makes the tour worth the money - we got to go onto a terrace that is not generally open to the... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
