It cost us £6 to get in (as we were over 26) and its £3 to get in if youre under 25. The views are stunning from the top of it but as for a archaelogical site-there are plastic seatings in the middle of it which took away the charm of it. Pretty but I wouldnt go out of my... more

One of the big attractions to Taormina, the Teatro Greco is approached along a road bordered by tourist shops and gelato vans. As has been stated in other reviews, the entry price is halved for those younger adults (18-25 I think) and free for children (under 18). One other thing to note is that it's also half price for teachers,... more

The location is stunning, and before it was 'modernised' it must have been very authentic, but now the ampitheatre just lacks atmosphere. There is a wooden stage, which conceals many of the Greco-Roman remains, plus lots of lighting gantries and tiers of plastic seating. It must be a great place to go for a concert, but as an archaeological site... more

I loved the Greek Amphitheater in Taormina. We went there twice during our trip as the first time we went there had just been a pop concert - so there was scaffolding in front of the amazing view. - So check to make sure that there hasn't been a concert the night before. The second time - the stage and... more

Visited May 08, 6 Euro's entry - money well spent, as per other reviews, the views are EXCELLENT from here. Has got full views in nearly all directions. Not a massive sight, but the great photos are picture-postcard. more

Fantastic views from all sides. Whilst we were visiting, preparations were being made for a concert and we found the mix of "old and new" intriguing! I agree that there could be more information signage around the site but would not hesitate in recommending a visit. more

As with all State owned attractions in Italy it is half price entry if you are under 25 or if you are over 65. You must take some id though as proof. We visited in June 07 and the views were ruined by the scaffold being arrected for the film festival. Can not complain but would have loved to see... more

We had just come in from Rome so we weren't as impressed with Teatro Greco as we might have been if this were our first landing site. The only thing at this site is the theater itself so once you spend a few minutes in there, you'll pretty much get the whole picture. The reason this site is still worth... more

My parents went to Taormina for their honeymoon in 1939. I wanted to see the place for myself. First impressions were of a typically over-rated, highly touristy, commercially grasping place. How different it must have been in 1939! But there were redeeming features, the views across gloriously blue sea and back to the imposing volcano Etna and all around the... more

This is the first ancient ruin that we had ever seen, and we were blown away! The view from the cavea (audience seating area) is incredible - I can't imagine being able to keep my mind on the play with that view behind! If you walk around to the back of the theatre, the view is just as stunning. more
