Miles and miles of underground catacoombs. Fascinating history and well-delivered tour by the tourguide. Well worth the price for the visit. Quite spooky and thought-provoking!

Our visit to the Catacombs of San Giovanni were such a surprise. We really didn't know what to expect but were blown away at the historical importance this site held. We appreciated the guided tour (ours was in English) that was included in the price of admission. Highly recommend seeing this upon your visit to Syracuse

I was talked into visiting this attraction by a friend - glad she did. We had a guide to walk us through various sections of the catacombes. It was only a 30 minute tour and no photos are allowed to be taken once the tour commences. Our guide should have been more fluent in the english language if they offer... More

The place itself is probably quite interesting but our guide didn't speak very good English so we couldn't understand a lot of what she was saying. It also felt very rushed. €8 was steep for a very quick tour also.

A really nice guide with an obvious love for the place made this tour underground special. We has a chance to see the extent of these vast catacombs and get an idea of how the people valued them. Well woth the time.

First of all, plan your visit ahead as there are not many guided tours and you need one to visit it. We truly enjoyed this visit as it was something we were not expecting to see in such an impeccable shape. Definitely recommend but read about its history first.

This tour was very informative and only cost €2. I liked this tour a lot more than the catecoms in Palermo. Suggest this one instead of Palermo.

This can only be visited as part of a guided tour, which I am often sceptical of. However, despite our group being large and made up of both Italian and english speakers, the tour was fascinating and a 'must see' on a visit to Siracusa. A little knowledge beforehand of the number and range of invaders to the Island and... More
