I've been there two times and every time is a new discovery. Visits are always accompained by a well prepared guide and you can discover the only contemporary architecture restoration in town, signed by architect Gae Aulenti. The "monte di pietà" sector is simply moving...

We went here after reading about it on TA when we were walking around the neighborhood. What a great experience, this new museum is a restored palace and they used a good architect to do this. As we were the only 2 people there we got our tour in English, and got great explanations and had all our questions answered.... More

I didn't miss the old museum one bit as the Palazzo Branciforte is an historical gift to be cherished. Where else can you find exquisite artifacts from Selinunte and other archaeological sites so artfully displayed that your... More

Thoroughly enjoyed this beautifully restored and unusual fragment of Palermo's past. The lovely Alice, a perfect, enthusiastic guide. The people's pawn shop relic absolutely intriguing, the archaeological display so well done.

This visit was a great experience, made even better by the charming and ever-so-enthusiastic Alice B. who showed us around and told us all about the palace in English. TIP: if you get there at 09.30 and there are no other visitors, Alice can do the tour in English – otherwise it is in Italian, but would still be well... More

On a recent (second) visit to Palermo w friends, our guide strongly recommended a visit to this rebuilt palazzo. A beautiful place w well informed guides explaining interesting exhibits of ancient pottery, library, stamps and coins. Originally built for a wealthy family, the neighborhood declined and the family moved but opened a huge pawn shop for the poor. Part of... More
