. La Martorana is located in Piazza Bellini directly adjacent to San Cataldo Chapel. Built in 1143, Santa Maria dell' Ammiraglio is named after Eloisa dell Martorana who founded the nearby Benedictine convent. The Baroque interior is beautiful: entirely covered in frescoes which include "Annunciation", "The Nativity" and "The Presentation at the Temple". There are also figures of Saints on... more
