I liked the view and there are three or four nice hotels along the shore. There is very little beach, mostly just lava flows into the sea but our hotel was built on one of these and it was unique and well done. Other than that most of the trip was back in catania as the city is limited.

At the port of Aci Castello, each year is held a 3 day event relate to a small fish called "masculino". there is a nice atmosphere in the evening, all the locals get here, with stands displaying local products, and stands where you can buy food relate to this fish, example pasta, deep fried tiny fish, etc. 10euro for a plate... Lots of nice restaurants on a very picturesque fishing village. We stopped there on our sailing adventure and saw them unloading HUGE tunas. HAd a cafe and enjoyed the scenery

This is a beautiful town with a lovely Norman castle built on volcanic rock, rocky beaches and a very busy town square. The community here is very close and it was lovely to be in the square in the early evenings watching the locals, chat, eat and have fun, The sea is calm here and we all had fun swimming... More

Actually we did not spend much time visiting Aci Castello. The first time we came at the very beginning of our Etna&Taormina tour and took some coffee in the small establishment next to the norman castle. The second couple has no interest in visiting castle. So we returned in the evening. The castle itself is only partly preserved, but there... More

We were on a bus to Aci Castello, lovely fishing village outside of Catania. We were in love with the Norman Castle, dating back to the Middle Ages, 1076. The town developed around the castle. The scenery is breathtaking! It is either the beginning or the end of the Riviera dei Ciclopi. A little further down the coast you can... More

We went to Aci Castello from Catania by bus. It is a 30 minute ride but the scenery is nice, and you get to see some typical Italian places. The castle is nice, though it was closed for visiting when we got there.

Aci Castello is a nice Sicilian place, with hundreds of boats and a lot of men fishing with a rod, really charming coastal landscapes, a bit nostalgic and pensive. What was most interesting in Aci Castello to me was a beach, extremely unusual and absolutely unique for Sicily black beach of volcanic lava from Etna nearby.
