We were really not expecting the canyon and the topography. We were expecting a light walk on our way to a swimming hole. The scenery was amazing, unfortunately the one hour drive was for not as a brush fire went through on June 15th and burned the easterly facing of the canyon. Because of the extreme dryness and wind, the... More

One of the best spot in southeastern Sicily to visit. Great view, nice pools with mountain river water. It was superb!

It's a bit tough to go down in the canyon and it takes around 30min. It took us 40min to come back up (very fast!) and good shoes are mandatory for it (actually there is a check in the entrance). However, in the end you see it's really worth all the effort and time you spend "roasting" under the sun.... More

We arrived on the 6th November to find the path down closed due to a falling rocks issue. It was due to be closed for 3 days. I'm not sure where or how you could find out prior to visiting if it's closed but I'm assuming it was because the day before there was a lot of rain and wind.... More

And I don’t love hiking unless the scenery is stunning. And it isn’t really. Yes you’re in a gorge so there are some decent views but it’s scrub brush most of the way – not especially pretty. It’s a steep couple kms down with steep steps, very rocky sections, and some wet slippery rocks near the bottom. It took us... More

Traveled as three families to include three kids in hiking carriers and one 6 year old hiking with mom. Hike down was steep in places, jarring to the knees (so wear really good/stable shoes for knees and ankles). There was a handrail all the way down that was needed in some areas. The dads with carriers are in really good... More

Looking down from the car park at the top of this amazing canyon wasn't sure if I could do it! But was so glad I did, yes it is challenging, both up and down, and you should wear good footwear, but it is a once in a lifetime experience. Take water, lunch and swimming things, agree with other reviewers to... More

You do have to be physically fit for this trip, but it is well worth the effort. Go in the morning and take a light lunch and water. Swim, sun bathe and enjoy the views. Water is cool, but crystal clear. Wear sturdy shoes and watch your step.

Yes, it is a bit of walk down but the reward is amazing. Small lagoons separated by waterfalls for your swimming pleasure. Bring water and remember that going up is tougher. Showers (for 1 EUR) and toilets (free) are available at the top. Small fee for parking (3EUR) which can be avoided if you just decide to park elsewhere. No... More

If you have a bucket list, this should be in the first few places. If you don't have strong knees though forget it. Yes it is hard to reach but it's worth the pain for all that beauty and I'm glad I did this for the second time now and will be going every year. I decided to go down... More
