Right in the centre, this small museum has some interesting local artefacts going back thousands of years. The large model of Tharros is a must-see after you visit the ruins on the Sini peninsula- it makes sense of the site which is absent on the ground.Pleasant modern interior in a classic building. There is a cafe area which was not in... More

This museum is very nice. It isn't real big but they have some interesting items and the displays are well marked and included English in the text. There is an interesting video that can be shown in a number of languages that describes the various sights around the area.

We were treated to a short documentary about the region so it is worth going early in your holiday for this information. The museum has Roman and Bronze Age exhibits, their is a model of how Tharros would have looked like in its heyday. Also, a few medieval painting. There is also a special tactile area set up for the... More

We've been to this Antiquarium in November 2013. The museum is devided into several areas relative to the period of objects. There is a multimedia zone where you can watch a video about Sardinia's main sightseeings. Overall impression is positive; it is not a must-see in Sardinia, but nice to see if you have free 30 minutes and you like... More

I am sorry to say this museum is not worth neither money nor time. It is quite small, you can spend there no more than 30-40 minutes even if you walk slowly. All in description in Italian language, the only interesting thing is model of Tharros on the second floor. I visited Archaeological Museum in Cagliari, which was excellent, couple... More

Lots of things on display. We got a guide who was very enthusiastic, but I couldn't follow the Italian. An interesting room where you're supposed to touch everything,, good for kids. But I just felt that I was in a museum that I couldn't connect with.

This is a very thorough museum, I have never seen so much of interest about the pheonicians in one building before. Most of the information is in Italian one improvement would to be provide some in other languages. It was wonderful to find they have a tactile section for those who have poor sight and really enjoyed picking up and... More

This museum in the centre of Oristano shows archaeological finds from prehistory- Middle ages from in and around Oristano. In one of the rooms, where the finds from Tharros are shown, there is a reconstruction model of ancient Tharros, which gives you a great idea of the town and its surroundings. Temporary exhibitions are organized together with the departments of... More
