We lived in Quarta St.Elena, about two-three hours away from Sant' Antioco. We checked out the sweet spots, or so we thought, but after driving around the whole island after the main stop we discovered a lot of places much better for our purpose. Our own fault; we felt for the pictures on the web and brouchures, instead of checking... More

Most of the travellers stop at the small town of Antioco, because they visit the island with tour agencies. I took the local public transport ARST Cagliari - Callasetta. Callasetta is a nice village and has some great open-air cafes that are very cheap and offer local specialities. Besides, you can take a ferry to Capoterra (San Pietro island) and... More

In this article i want to present a famous italian place in the south of Italy: the beatiful Sardinia island. I don’t want to speak about the north of Sardinya for example Porto Cervo, a vip place known every where in the world, but the south of Sardinya the beautufil unklown part of this island. The place is near Cagliari... More

This town is worth a visit for the Basilica and the catacombs and also the museo del bisso. The catacombs are very extensive and have an interesting history, guided by a knowledgeable university student. The Museo del bisso is fascinating and worth a visit. The central square has a nice fountain which the locals sit around and watch soccer on... More

We visited Sant'Antioco and wandered along the harbour and into the centre to sit for a coffee. Not able to do much more as it was lunch time so the shops were all closed. Very pretty place and I loved the pedestrianised area on the sea front. Roman Bridge was fascinating.

Connected to mainland Sardinia by a causeway, easily accessible. We went with the tour company Cagliary Tours, as it is hard to get there without a car. Fascinating historical places in the main town such as Tophet where ashes of babies were found to be buried in pots on the hillside and the catacombs under the 5th century church where... More

We went with an organised trip. The views were fantastic, as was the lunch that was included in the cost. Our guide was very imformative and was quite a character! A long day,but a great way to see some of the island.

Takes 2 hours to get to this island from Cagliari by car. Swimming is heavenly at this sandy beach, though there are other beaches around the island as well. Water is cold and crystal clear; it is always windy. You can rent an umbrella and two lounge chairs for 18 Euros for the day. There are a few small eateries... More
