Just 3 km far from the city centre, this beach extends for 9 km, with cycling and running paths, several beach services and restaurants/bars usually open till 2 a.m. (during summer). Anyway, biking/running/walking on the sand during the (numerous) sunny days in winter is a great experience!

We stayed in apatment near the Poetto beach, I we liked it, cause if compare to most beaches in Cagliari provence it's really spacious and good for long walks. Nice for walking in evening and to watch kites playing in the wind. Lots of place to park a car, lots of restaurants and bars. Nice place near Cagliari.

Beautiful views and very relaxing! The water was crystal clear. There are also numerous bars and food locations across the beach to grab a drink. They are all fairly well priced.

Unfortunately the sad was dirty and a lot of dogs and poop. Hard to get to the beach directly and surrounding buildings in decay and 'down at heal'. Summer probably helps it. Needs a major rebirth. Derelict hotels on the beach etc. Wheelchair access is a 'bone to pick' in Sardinia with most facilities!! EU standards?

Lovely sand, lots of beach restaurants and very good facilities. Downside is the jellyfish - there was even a jellyfish patrol person fishing them out of the sea.

On a sunny day just rent a vespa and go to that beach - the further you go the better it is. Don't go to the part closest to Cagliari as this is full of tourists and ugly hotels, beach itself is super narrow there. You can also admire flamingos on your way back, as they stay at the lakes... More

It is not far from the city but as all the locals like their beaches very much, they are all the time crowded. So better go to Chia coasts where you will find quieter places.

Currently I went to Cagliari for a relaxing holiday of sun sea and beach. A part from other beaches I've visited I loved Poetto beach. I can highly recommend "Le Palmette" - it's the 1st beach bar (+ beach beds) when you arrive at Poetto beach. They had nice buddha bar and cafe del mar music playing in the background,... More

As a tourist you'll have to know where to stay, otherwise you'll have to pay even for getting there! We suggest to get off the first bus stop, where the public area of the beach is. There you don't have to pay anything! Make sure you bring your parasol and be prepared for the wind! There are some options to... More
