It is not far from the city but as all the locals like their beaches very much, they are all the time crowded. So better go to Chia coasts where you will find quieter places.

Currently I went to Cagliari for a relaxing holiday of sun sea and beach. A part from other beaches I've visited I loved Poetto beach. I can highly recommend "Le Palmette" - it's the 1st beach bar (+ beach beds) when you arrive at Poetto beach. They had nice buddha bar and cafe del mar music playing in the background,... More

As a tourist you'll have to know where to stay, otherwise you'll have to pay even for getting there! We suggest to get off the first bus stop, where the public area of the beach is. There you don't have to pay anything! Make sure you bring your parasol and be prepared for the wind! There are some options to... More

A sheltered garden not far from the centre of Cagliari. A nightmare to park near. It passed an hour or so but not one to go out of your way for.

The pictures must have been taken in a particular season because all shows empty and calm waters. We visited August '14. Very crowded as it is peak season and the waves are non stop and big. No calm water here to pitter patter in the ocean. You are in the water and just rolling with the waves. There is a... More

We arrived about 11am and wished we came earlier. Parking is free as long as you park in white lines, but beware, while we were looking for a space we saw a car getting scratched by a poor parker trying to get in to a narrow space. The beach itself is very very crowded, we rented 2 sun loungers and... More

Maybe not the best beach in Sardinia, but a great city beach if you're staying in Cagliari. Good communications from Cagliari to the entire beach.

There are a lot of places to choose from, although they are all the same. Free and paid. Of you don't have a car, this is the best beach you can visit in Cagliari. Also, if you like nude sunbathing, you can hike to La Pailotte, but that's another story. Poetto beach offers you beautiful water (very nice color), somewhat... More
