It is very easy to reach Poetto beach from city centre. You have to take a PF or PQ line from Piazza Matteotti and ride for about 10-15 minutes. However, this beach is pretty crowdy, so I suggest you better take ARST ride to Pula or Villassimus.

A very nice sandy beach to visit while you are in the city. Admiring its clear blue water and stopping in one of the cafes to have a snack or lunch even better. It was a sunny day in April with many people around enjoying one of the most beautiful beaches of Cagliari. Highly recommended for families and friends, ther's... More

We took the bus from Cagliari which is very good value to Poetto. While the beach is indeed very long the state of the buildings is terrible. Many are derelict and covered in Grafitti making it look tatty and uncared for. We did go out of season but these buildings have been derelict for many years cannot understand why they... More

I loved t. Just loved. 9 km long beautiful sand beach. Perfect place for rest, walking, beach games, picnic, jogging... The colour of the sea in sunny day is unbelieveable.

Even in late February, Poetto is extremely picturesque and, arguably, better for the lack of people. Spent an hour walking around and along the beach and then took photos of the flamingos on the lake side of the peninsula.

Poetto beach boasts a 9 km long sandy beach, which borders the crystal celar water line that stretches out of Cagliar' area towards the Quartu Sant'Elena Area. The beach is dotted with several kiosks where you can enjoy a quick lunch, beer or coffe, while getting warmed up by South Sardinia's typical susnhine even in the coolest months.Weather permitting, the water is warm enough for... As soon as the sun finally came out, I purchased a day ticket from my local tobacconists (for €3) and took the PF bus from Piazza Matteotti to Poetto beach. You can take the PQ bus if that arrives first as they both pick up from the same stops. Although a 15-20 min bus ride depending on traffic, I would... More
