Best view of the city, but still closed on April 20th 2015. You can climb with the elevator or you can use stairs.. Nice walk in the old part of Cagliari on the hill.. Narrow streets, cars driving so you will have to move so that the car manages to pass- but all in all nice walk,

Was looking forward to seeing this site in Cagliari- during our stop on our cruise. After walking uphill from the Fort- we came across Saint Remy- and the chain linked fence- stating that the site was closed for construction/renovation. Very disappointing. Not sure when it will reopen- but as a FYI for viewing.

It's been nice to visit Cagliari, but when we arrived here....and we've seen the view it was. ...speechless. It's a must for a visit in Cagliari! !

This is great place to spend a couple of days. Whole place is full of history and all those small streets and stairs takes you in different world. Views are stunning and it's just relaxing to sit in one of the restaurants or bars and enjoy the atmosphere.

in my humble opinion the most amazing time to go there is about half an hour before sunset. the views on the gulf & all sides of the city are really stunning. great for an evening stroll after dinner too. there's a bar if you fancy a drink. in the evenings there are many teens meeting up. this Terrazza Umberto... Bastione di Saint Remy is a good place for sightseeing, if you're not too lazy to climb some stairs. From the top there's a great view to all sides of the city available. In the evening the local youth comes there to drink, so if you're a group of friends you may consider it as an option too. Although the... More

Cagliari was on my list of places to go but this place summed it up for me quite well. Potential to be amazing but actually falling apart and covered in graffiti as in fact was most of the rest of the city we saw. I guess the pouring rain didn't help but OMG this place was depressing. How bad then.....well... More

Stairways and a triumphal arch provide access from the Marina district to the Castello district. This structure is an eyesore conceived by a megalomaniac. From the terraces, there is a good view of the Marina and Villanova districts, although there is a much better view of the latter from the square adjoining the Palazzo Regio. The terraces themselves are another... More

If you are planning to visit the walled city of Cagliari, the Bastione (which is an ancient entrance to the city) is a good way to get you up the hill if you don't mind a few steps.
