The architecture is different from all the catholic churches. It looks more Orthodox style. Inside it has it's own symbols, sculptures as every church does. Also there is a possibility to go down, under the church, where you can find the kings on the walls shown in a sculpture ways.

The best looking church in Cagliari and the only one for me that comes close to the churches on mainland Italy. Be careful what you wear though, shoulders and legs must be covered if you're a woman.

Definitely worth a visit, to see the beautiful Church but also make sure you go down and take a peek at the tombs. Fantastic stonework and detail. One of the few highlights for this town.

Cathedral of Cagliari is well worth the visit, not only for its fine relics and decorations. It is a very peaceful and atmospheric church situated on a pleasant square.

Beautiful building well worth visiting for the icons and images within. Women will need to cover shoulders and legs before admission.

Originally, we planned to take bus #7 near Piazza Yenne to go near the cathedral Cagliari. But we took the lift behind Chiesa di Santa Chiara instead. Interesting cathedral, one of the few interesting things to do in Cagliari, a city offering NOTHING to tourists.

Lovely building but the most unique feature are the crypts with very unusual ceiling and wall decoration. The ceilings are vaulted, there is plenty of light in the main crypt as well as the two side crypts. Well worth a visit but check opening times.

It was a pleasure to visit this great cathedral . But I don't know why it was close at o'clock in the afternoon. But like all the churches in Italy....it should be visited.

During our day in Cagliari the cathedral church was one of the most beautiful places we visited. The Cattedrale di Santa Maria e Santa Cecilia as it is called is a great example of changing styles of Italian sacral architecture. The interior is worth some time to appreciate the beauty of the work in marble, the altars and the decorations... More
