This is probably wonderful but end of Sept 2012 was being renovated so restricted access, scaffolding etc. Hard to tell.

Whilst scaffolding was up around the building inside was clear and accessible. The art and the history were stunning with haunting organ music in the background beautiful icons superb architecture.

Well worth a visit. The cathedral has been in existence since approx 1500 a.d. and is steeped in history. I was fascinated by the bemused faces of the marble lions guarding the steps to the altar. The organist was practising while we were there and it added to the Gothic atmosphere.

the organist was practising when we went in - so atmospheric and peaceful and authentic, even in the heart of the tourist district of the old town.

Sometimes when you walk through it the chorus will be practicing and it sounds beautiful. The architecture and details were so nice and it made me feel like going to mass. Loved it.

Worth a visit but don't worry if you miss it. It is quite dark inside and there are better churched to see,

This cathedral is stunning, the art within was lovely to look at and the layout is very well considered. Only downfall were the women begging on the door as we left.

Not to be missed. Very precious and preserved. Walking inside was like going back in time.
