Instead of the crowdy Maria Pia, do rent a bike (or why not a car?) and go south of Alghero instead! Along th coastline towards Bosa, there are several small and very cosy bays, with sand or rocks, whatever! Don't forget the backpack - it's nice with a picnic on place! More

I was on a short two day trip in Alghero, July 2011 and I was amazed about the variety and number of beautiful beaches I could find. I was disappointed to read previous reviews on Trip advisor that this beach was not up to standard following booking our hotel which overlooked this beach.
