The place isn't very crowded, there are a no. of snack and drink bars within small distances, the old town is clearly visible from the beach. We were at the beginning of the beach- which wasn't very crowded but as we walked towards the lido beach it became quite crowded. The sunset was beautiful though.

It was huge, no problem finding a spot to lie down. The water is very clear. Watch out for the foodplaces on the beach though.

The beach is about 40 mins walk from Alghero old town and although it's nice, I'm no sure it's significantly nice enough to warrant the walk when the lido Bach is near. There s a little cafe and plenty of sunbeds to hire. It is quieter than the lido beach as it is away from the main road. It's a... More

We decided to forego the beach near the Alghero city center and make the 30 min trek to Maria Pia Beach. And boy were we glad we did! Hello white sand and blue/turquoise water! We decided to rent an umbrella and 2 beach chairs for 10 euro for the whole day. Not a bad deal in my opinion. Snack bars,... More

A beautiful beach. Crowded on sunday, but nicely quiet on weekdays. Some salesmen, but they were not invasive.

Visited mid April 2014. Missed the early morning bus so took a taxi out from town which cost € 8 for five of us. Beautiful white sand and lovely clear blue / green seas. Spent a few hours on the beach here with the kids and then walked back to town ... its about a 30 - 40 minute leisurely... More
