Having travelled all over the world and visited many of the world's best beaches, I have to say my visit to Maria Pia rates high. Backed by Eucalyptus trees, the sea is clear and the sand white. Visiting in April, the beach was quiet and we managed to fall sound asleep for an hour or two on the soft sands!... More

Loved it, clean sand beautiful water. Easy, free and lots parking at the front. The beach is a 2 minute walk along a wooden walkway. There's a small cafe too but it closes at about 4.

This beach would be so easy to miss and you walk along pathways through some trees and there it is, white sand, clear blue water and complete peace and quiet

The beach is sandy with natural dunes and trees for some shade. You can go there by bus going to Fertilia - AF or Al.F.A. (10-15 min) or by foot (40-60 min) from the city center. On the beach you can find a restaurant serving drinks and food ( a bit more expensive than in the city center). Definitely great... More

The beach is really nice and located in a tine tree forest. It is quiet and you can have a lovely time here. The waterfront is also great

I've been to a lot of beaches and this ranks way up there. Long and curved, shallow sloped, clean water, nice sand, dunes behind, trees behind the dunes. It just has a great feel to it.

I love, love, love this beach. I usually have a bike and stay in centro storico so I can bike there in 15 minutes or less. I've been to Lazaretto and Bombarde but Maria Pia still wins for me. It begins with a pine forest and you just go through one of the several different openings or parking areas to... More

The Maria Pia beach is very beautiful with trees and plants - not only sand. Not so many people there.

You won't find a better beach in Alghero, simple as that. White sand and crystal clear water make this beach so beautiful that it wouldn't be out of place in the Caribbean. Make sure to head towards the pine trees for some much needed shade!

Lovely beach fairly close to the town center. White sand, turquoise water, pine woods for shade, a fair amount of places for drinks and food.
