Wandering in the narrow streets near the fishermen's harbor, you can be surprised by very trendy boutiques and, just aside, n open-air fishery. The Cathedral is simply astonishing, and the sunset hours are the best to appreciate the limestone nuances of yellow orange and sepia.

A spectacular seaside town with great restaurants, superb local wine and excellent seafood and pasta dishes. with almost 1000 years of history, monument-mongers will also find their times well-spent.

Trani has a beautiful port area which is worth visiting. We also had the best focaccia in Puglia and a great coffee at a very fancy coffee place.

Trani is a small medieval city by the seashore. In my opinion it is very well kept and a good location to visit both in the morning and in the evening. Food is also not expensive and a good traditionally baked pizza (forno al legno) the old way is mostly suggested. Wish I had more time.

We visited Trani for one day during a tour of Puglia. It was very much worthwhile. The cathedral is absolutely beautiful and should not be missed. But the town also is very pleasant. Small, by the sea with a nice harbor. We wished we had stayed on or made this a base of further excursion. A highlight off our trip.

Trani is an easy day trip from Bari, only 45 minutes and a 3.20 euro train ticket away. The town is built mainly from white limestone, and is clean and beautiful, with interesting narrow streets to explore on your way to the Duomo and he fortress, both built in he 12th century. You can also walk along the lungomare and... More

Another beautiful limestone church with a minimalist interior , not that it was always like this . It now houses the relics of another Nicholas , a young Greek pilgrim who died there in the 11 century and was promptly canonised allowing Trani to compete with Bari ! The cathedral is built on a similar form to Bari with a... More

Wonderful city, whose old centre is characterized by bright white buildings (made of the typical Trani stone, so common in the past in the Apulian construction industry) in Romanic stile. Walking along the seafront and through the narrow and quiet streets of the old city, sensing the smells of the authentic Apulian cuisine coming out of the houses and listening... More

a lovely town with specialist fish restaurants (raw fish a local delicacy) all around the harbour. the cathedral dominates the place and there's lots of history with churches and palazzos every where and a very old synagogue. A busy alive place with people living in the historic centre and crowds out strolling at night, all very Italian. There are parks and... More
