Trani has the most impressive Romanesque church i have seen anywhere. Actually its 3 churches built upon each other. Location is also unusual, right beside the ocean. This was because the place from where the Crusades left for the Middle East. Trani also has a very nice oceanfront promenade.

Although we spent just an hour in this city, I feel I would like to return and send more time. We passed a few nice accommodations. We walked through the lovely park overlooking the sea. A fisherman was catching octopus with 2 long poles. Then we entered the impressive Cathedral dedicated to San Nicholas. One of the nice things about... More

I never would have found this most lovely seaside town where the water could be compared to any in the Caribbean! The town is quaint and especially breathtaking as the sun is setting and you look over the cliffs to deep blue water. I was most grateful to my family from Bari for including this lovely town on my trip.

A beautiful little port with several good restaurants and fishing boats that return with their catch every day. Sometimes they are selling it on the harbour. A lovely cathedral with an unusual, large, window at pavement level into the crypt.

Trani is a really charming seaside town in Puglia. It's natural harbor is a beauty with many yachts and sailboats. The walk along the seawall is lovely and the public gardens are beautiful. A nice relaxing atmosphere. This little city prides itself on the slow easy lifestyle. This was a nice day trip from Bari and other nearby towns. Most... More

Trani prides itself on being a 'citta slow' - so don't expect frenetic activity when you visit. It's small, but perfectly formed and well worth a day/evening out.

We have just spent a week in Bari based at the Palace Hotel. This has been really special. Bari is not a tourist trap but real Southern Italy. Every restaurant is authentic a welcoming and still great value for money. Nearby Trani is a jewel and is known as the Hampstead of the area. It really is. Downside don't try... More
