Beautiful old church. We visited about 3 0'clock in the afternoon and was not very crowded. One of the main attractions in Bari,in the old town, very close to the sea. Plain exterior, yoy don't realie how beautiful is from inside, very large has some lovely statues and mosaics with amaing paintings to the roof. Worth a visit in the chapel downstairs.

Beautiful church with lots of ornate décor. This church is dedicated to St. Nicholas who we now know as Santa Claus

Beautiful, centuries-old basilica. Not very crowded when we visited. Near the baywalk where you can rest and watch the ocean.

This is a 900+ year old very well preserved major church. If you want to see what Santa really looked like, look at the likeness of what he probably looked like-aMiddle Eastern man.

You don't need to have any strongly held Christian views to appreciate a visit to this... More

These are not as elegantly furnished as many of the Catholic churches although a lot of this can be put down to al but a small pieces of the fresco that would have been painted all around the church. The alter and the canopy over the top are worth seeing as is the crypt dedicated to St Nicholas. Get a... More
