This is a wonderful church and a must see while in Bari. One of the larger cathedrals in Italy. Great for photographers!

A special church for the fact that the bones of St. Nicolas are resting here. A place of pilgrimage, specially for the Russian Orthodox, the church could be emotionally charged as lines of people are waiting to get near. See http://www.stnicholascenter.org/pages/who-is-st-nicholas/ for the story of this much loved saint. I found the church to be a great resting and relaxing... More

Church was beautiful. When we visited there was a military wedding taking place. Really enjoyed the story behind St. Nicholas

Beautiful church with lots of ornate décor. This church is dedicated to St. Nicholas who we now know as Santa Claus

Beautiful, centuries-old basilica. Not very crowded when we visited. Near the baywalk where you can rest and watch the ocean.

This is a 900+ year old very well preserved major church. If you want to see what Santa really looked like, look at the likeness of what he probably looked like-aMiddle Eastern man.
