Well it was finished at taht time, and the exterior is mostly unchanged. The interior however is mostly from 1500 century, but very nice. Please have a look at the 2 organs from ca 1450-1550. Enare

On principle I refuse to pay to go into a church. However, on Ferragosto, to celebrate the feast of the Assumption, there are free concerts in all of Verona's major churches, including the duomo. I attended a wonderful chamber orchestra concert there, with a lovely clarinet soloist. I also had the opportunity to marvel at the architecture and the opulence... More

Although the building is being renovated (stonewashed etc) This is a must for any visitor to Verona. Beautiful ceilings, chapels, lots of sumptuous figures and also some newly installed handmade chairs, some in marble and some in marble, all beautifully crafted. Again one can walk with freedom to enjoy the lovely artefacts.

Don't let the renovation work put you off. A beautiful Cathedral. Well worth the entrance fee, a still atmosphere with magnificent art work to enjoy. After Juliet's house this is a definite must see in Verona.

The Frescos and paintings. The marble pillars and floors which form the Nave is breathtaking. If you venture further into the baptistry, there is a part of the former church dating back to……for the visitor feast one's eyes on. Its gloriously beautiful!!

If I was only doing two churches I'd skip this for San Zeno and San Fermo but it's easy to have a quick look - the cloisters are lovely though - highly recommend the all-in-one churches ticket for Verona if you love a bit of history/ art/ architecture all thrown in - skip Romeo & Juliet stuff which is all...
