It's no wonder that this is one of the most historic and picturesque squares in Italy: in antiquity, it served as a Roman forum; today, it contains many historic buildings, sculptures with a popular and colorful market overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables.

This piazza is close to tourist attractions such as Juliet's Tomb (as in Romeo and Julie, no she was not a real person, but smart Verona residents capitalize on her fame nonetheless) and the duomo. A mix of vendors sell typical souvenir options or farmers' market ware. Many cafes line the piazza, and many recommend it as a good spot... More

The Piazza and its buildings are way more interesting than the market. Mostly mediocre tourist stuff, and overpriced at that. Not even worth getting a coffee here when there are way better cafes around the corner and throughout Verona. I would recommend sitting at the main fountain in the square and taking it all in before moving on.

A lovely piazza full of restaurants, coffee shops and shops. Beautiful buildings and architecture. Nice to sit outside for a spot of lunch with a Spritz and people watch. Would have like to have spent longer here, but was here just for one day visiting some of the other attractions.

T-shirts, caps, masks for sale!! But we were there on a day when a Medieval fair was taking place. Vendors were in period costumes, children could participate in grinding wheat, throwing balls at a jester, etc. it's a beautiful plaza regardless.

Take some time for a coffee and relax while people watching in this beautiful square. When we visited there was a local market place in the square and it was where we found the best fridge magnets and souvenirs.

We had a room in Pallazo Maffei overlooking Piazza delle Erbe. The view from the balcony is unbelievable at any time of the day/night. I dont remember the name of the cafe just accross the entrance from Pallazo Maffei, but we had coffee 2-3 times a day. Just so you know, if you take your espresso while standing next to... More
