We stumbled upon this cafe as we heard a pianist playing. The coffees are okay, a little expensive but worth it for the music. More

It took many hours to get from Venice airport, to the cruise terminal, to our cabins on the ship, to the monorail, to the Vaporetto, and then finally to Piazza San Marco. But when I sat down at a table at Caffe Chioggia with my girlfriend Therese and her mom Eileen, I felt like finally I was in Venice. We... More

The prices were expensive, the servers disinterested but the music was so worth sitting down and listening to. Joseph Miotti (violinist) and the other musicians made for a magical evening - amazing talent and passion in their playing! The first two nights we stood, listened and danced to the music, but the third night we actually sat down and ordered... More

We have just returned from Venice and were pleased to find Joseph Martin playing at the Gran Caffe! We were in Venice three years ago when he played at Quadri so we were so pleased to see him again. Quadri's loss I am afraid - we spent every penny at Caffe :-) More

Joseph Miotti (shaven head) plays wonderful violin front of Gran Caffe Chioggia. Used to play at Quadri Caffe in St. Mark's Square. He is a big part of our holiday when in Venice as we always finish the evening listening to Joseph's music until the bell from The Camanile tells you that it's midnight. He's an excellent musician, showman and... More

His name is Joseph Martin, and you will never forget his violin playing nor your evening there. He plays nightly Wednesday through Sunday except during the winter (after mid-December). May have a couple of CD's to take home with you if you ask him (20€ each). A "must experience" for the Venetian visitor, in our opinion. Worth the pricey drinks... More

Just got back from Venice and walking through St. Mark's Square at night heard a GREAT violinist playing. We listened a few minutes then sat for two hours just listening!!! It is expensive,52 euros for 4 Bellini's, but you are in Venice!!!!!! We loved him so much, we went back every night in Venice! More

We stopped at the Gran Caffe Chioggia in order to listen to an excellent violinist. We ordered one coffee, one hot chocolate and one small Grappa (local spirit). It was served by rather unfriendly waiters who lacked customer care. The bill was an excessive 34.40 Euros and the gents toilet smelt like a monkey house! I 'd never go there... More
