This is a fabulous church designed by Palladio and it has all of his trademarks. The space is very inspiring. The real reason to visit is to get the views from the top of the bell tower. There is no steel cage at the top so you can get great pictures without metal in the way! There's a good chance... More

Lovely views of Venice from the bell tower for 5 euros & bells chiming added to the atmosphere. Beautiful church and sculpture outside. Just another hop off the vaporetto!

Great view of San Marco. Be sure to climb the clock tower, and bring a 300mm lens to get good shots of the cathedral.

I have tried Octopus salad, Black spaghetti and calamari. fantastic! And during my Italy travel including Florence and Venice it was the best restaurant with their friendly workers and delicious food. Try to make a reservation. If you can't take the risk waiting for 10-15 min for table.

Not to people visit this island on the Venice lagoon which is why I decided to go there. The church is beautiful itself and if you climb up the bell tower there are great views of the lagoon. However an added bonus was just around the corner and down the esplanade by the yacht harbor there was a glass exhibition... More

This is one of Palladio's finest churches. It was begun in 1565 and completed in 1610 after his death. It is beautifully proportioned, very symmetrical and quite unadorned but lovely.

It is a little walk from San Marco to the first bridge over the Grand Canal, but the meander through the streets and squares to find it is an adventure on its own. Walking back down to San Giorgio you pass Peggy Guggenhiem's and a few lovely streets. Sitting on the edge of the peninsular watching the boats wizz by... More

This church is another example of Palladio's work and for 6e, you can take the elevator to the top of the campanile to get an amazing view of Venice. Take the vaporetto here and get away from the crowds.
