The owner has been able to create something different in Venice. The shop is small but has "ambience" ... with a touch of class! You'll not find ordinary glasses but the most beautiful of them ... and it's not just glasses!

If there is one thing you must experience in Venice, other than the infamous activities and icons that personifies and epitomises this beautiful township; is to at least visit Boudoir Galleria Ottica and introduce yourself to Alessandro the owner of this boutique store. The positive reviews that are well-deserved of Boudoir Galleria Ottica on the TripAdvisor City Guides App are... More

Found the reviews on Boudoir Galleria Ottica on Tripadvisor while doing some homework before going to Venice. I was in the market for new sunglasses, and hoped this little store was everything the reviews stated it was. With the help of Google maps (crucial) we found it at 1/2 past noon right before siesta. With only that day there in... More

My wife and I were relaxing in our room after a long day of walking through the hot streets of Venezia. As I was browsing through TA, I came across Boudoir Ottica, and having an eye for glasses I figured that there has to be something different in Italia than what we have in the US. So I said why... We stumbled upon Boudoir Galleria Ottica by chance. The store showcases the most exquisite range of quality eyewear but what made this an unforgettable shopping experience was the service we encountered. Alessandro (an optometrist with an eye for fashion), was warm, friendly, very knowledgable & genuinely interested in fitting you with the right piece. I was sold as soon as... More

I found this place by accident while I was living in Italy. It caught my attention because of the variety of glasses and creative accessories the store carries but particularly because I knew one of the designers of the frames. I knew I needed glasses but I refused getting something that was not perfect for my personality and my lifestyle... More

A beautiful shop with a unique atmosphere and an outstanding host in a part of Venice which is far away from the mass-tourist-routes. You want to check out the latest glasses sophisticated both in design quality or experience "never-seen-that-before" accories and be hosted by a charming shop owner? Visit Alessandro at his Boudoir Galery. Marco, Frankfurt/Germany

Our trip to Venice was made complete by discovering BOUDOIR. Just a little off the main path and SO worth finding. Alessandro was fantastic, the glasses I bought have made me the center of attention (even as a guest at a wedding!). A jewel among jewels! A very special place in a very unique city. No trip to Venice will... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
