My husband, daughter (9) and I took Marika's Pasta Extravaganza course. We had a ton of fun. She included our daughter in every aspect of the class and we all learned new techniques and had a great time doing it. The meal we ended up making was delicious and we have made handmade pasta several times since returning home. Marika... More

Marika was a wonderful guide to experience Venice's cuisine and culture. Our group was quite ambitious in the number of dishes we wanted to make and Marika helped us prepare all of them. Each part of the day was planned to enrich our experience: learning about our ingredients at the market, eating cicchetti and Fragolino in Venice, taking a water... More

I took the full day course, which includes shopping in the Rialto market, lunch in a couple of wine bars, cooking in Marika's amazing kitchen, and eating the results. It was a fantastic day! There were only four of us on the course, which meant we got lots of attention but also got to know each other quite well. Marika... More

We absolutely loved cooking with Marika. We took the pasta class on a Monday with 5 other people. The kitchen space is laid out so perfectly for classes, and the ingredients were of the highest quality. Marika allows you to really enjoy your meal course by course. It was informative and fun! We really enjoyed our time in Lido!

The cooking class was enjoyable and Marika explained a lot of things to us. My and I were in a class with 8 other people (4 other couples) and everyone got a chance to make gnocchi and pasta. The resulting food was just okay (nothing crazy like what you would get at a really good restaurant), but it gave me... More

I wanted to fulfill my dream and go to a cooking school out on the Lido while I was in Venice Italy. I was giddy it was so fun. The first class over the top kitchen with the amazing Marika Contaldo was our teacher. The table was set with everything from water to champagne. The lessons were easy to understand... More

AN ABSOLUTE MUST!!! My partner was apprehensive to take this class due to the cost, however, it was by far the best day we had during our week trip to Venice - not to mention I got him in a kitchen!! Marika knows exactly what she is talking about and it is a very informative class - she is extremely... More

Went to the pasta extravaganza cooking class and came away feeling full, content, and ready to bring these dishes home. Mariko is an excellent host and chef, very patient and hands on. Met some wonderful people in the class and enjoyed swapping tourist information. Definite highlight of my time in Venice.

I had an extra day to spend alone in Venice prior to a cruise. I've been to Venice a few times and wanted to be away from busy main attractions. This was fantastic, the trip from Piazza Roma to the Villa took about a 1/2 hour via watertaxi which was really cool to see the residential side of this beautiful... More

My friend and I recently took a half-day pasta class at Acquolina. There were 6 students, the instructor, Marika, and the instructor's assistant, so the class was a small and manageable size. Marika's English is excellent, so there was no difficulty in understanding her or what she was trying to explain to us. We made tagliatella pasta, basil tagliatella pasta,... More
