I have visited Venice many times over the years though the last visit was winter 2008. Being a keen kayaker (though self taught) I have wanted many a time to Kayak the canals. This time on the pre Venice Google search I always do- I found these lovely guys. I booked up quickly and couldn't wait! Over the 5 days... More

This is a belated review for a trip I took with Venice Kayak in May. What follow below is a Facebook post I made that night after the trip. Here are a few more comments before getting to that post. I read some reviews where the participants were not happy with the strictness of the tour leaders. You need to... More

My husband and I, VERY amateur kayakers, did the half day tour. There were three couples. The other two couples got single kayaks and because of my lack of experience, I opted to do a double kayak with my husband. You do cross a very busy bay area, which is a little intimidating, but I think just about any adult... More

Rene, our guide was flexible. When rain was forecast for Saturday, he easily agreed to take us out the following day. We had a wonderful time, seeing and learning about Venetians sites from an experienced and well-informed guide, such as Rene. He is a skilled kayaker and taught us much about handling a kayak in the Venice waters. I'd recommend... More

Highly, highly recommend this as an off the beaten path way to experience Venice! (And yes, it is possible to find an off the beaten path way to experience Venice!) Our guide Rene did a great job sharing Venice history, architecture and ecology while leading us through lots of the smaller canals, paddling on the Grand Canal, in the lagoon... More

Highly recommend this trip. If you don't have any kayaking experience, you should at least be comfortable in a boat as the crossing could be a little challenging otherwise due to the wake of the other boats. We got the option of going over to San Marco or through the smaller canals. So glad we did the smaller canals! San... More

We had an amazing experience! It was in October, so kind of chilly, and Venice Kayak provided top-of-the-line equipment, including waterproof jackets and spray skirts to keep us mostly dry. I wore basketbally shorts and I was fine. At the end our tour guide showed us a map of where we'd been, and we had zig-zagged all over Venice. He... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my two days with Venice Kayak in mid-October - first a private trip on the lagoon and then a group tour of the city canals. The equipment was good quality, the routes were well planned and the guide (Rene) was outstanding in terms of both kayaking leadership and local historical knowledge. I'd recommend this to anyone whether... More

I would encourage anyone with a reasonable level of fitness to make a booking with this company. Giovanni took great care of us while we had the most awesome experience of paddling around the canals. It was far better than the gondola trip (which we also did) because you really looked behind the scenes of Venice travelling along many of... More

Our full day tour with Giovanni was the highlight of our time in Venice. We have our own boats at home, but are by no means professional kayakers. Giovanni took pains to be sure we were comfortable and safe out on the canals with the rest of Venetian boat traffic. He was a trove of information about Venice, and we... More
