I am a qualified tour guide offering private guided tours in Venice on foot and by boat and in the lagoon (Murano, Burano and Torcello) in English, German and Italian. I would love to show you the classical sites such as San Marco, the Doge's palace, the Rialto bridge and market, but also less known areas (churches, museums, gardens).

We did a 3 hour tour of Venice, predominately of St Mark's & the Doge's Palace. It was wonderful to have a local tour guide, that was so knowledgeable and could answer any question. She is clearly very passionate about the history in Venice, the various buildings and all of the art works. We didn't have quite the same enthusiasm... More

Fiona loves Venice and we were the recipients of that love & knowledge last Sunday for a 3 hour walking tour including an hour boat ride. She was easy to work with before we arrived, adapted to changes with no problem and charged a fair fee. Sadly, the Basilica was closed to the public that day so we couldn't go... More

My wife, my 15 year old daughter and I took our first trip to Italy this year, starting in Venice. There's so much to see, and Fiona taught us so much in the 3 or so hours we were with her. Clear communication while booking the tour, and easy communication during the tour (she speaks English wonderfully). Fiona went out... More

Fiona's tour was the highlight of our trip to Venice. In addition, she gave us some very useful advice for visiting the islands near Venice, and we saved enough money to pay for the tour!

Fiona made our trip to Venice perfect. Such a lovely lady and so knowledgeable and fun to be with. The boat trip was well worth doing as well as Fiona could explain more of the history and homes.

If you don't have lots of time to explore Venice, it is definitely worth getting a guided tour. Fiona couldn't have been better. Travelling with different age children can be tricky but we all thoroughly enjoyed both tours we booked. She was knowledgeable and passionate about her beautiful city. Highly recommended.

We were very pleased with their services. Our guide was charming, helpful and knowledgeable. He made our visit to Venice a delight - easy, comfortable, smooth, full of fascinating information. Their service was very convenient and very reasonably priced.

Fiona was a wonderful guide, very informative and knowledgeable about Venice and its beautiful sights. She was engaging, friendly and made the tour extremely fun and interesting for us. This was not an easy feat since I had my parents along and being elderly Chinese, they didn't understand the European culture and history as well and weren't particularly enamored of... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
