I am a qualified tour guide offering private guided tours in Venice on foot and by boat and in the lagoon (Murano, Burano and Torcello) in English, German and Italian. I would love to show you the classical sites such as San Marco, the Doge's palace, the Rialto bridge and market, but also less known areas (churches, museums, gardens).

We spent a 3 hour tour with Fiona (being 2 adults and a 12 year old daughter) and can honestly say I don't think we could have found a better guide anywhere else. Our tour took us to the Spiral Staircase, Phoenix Opera House, St Marks, Doges Palace and Rialto Bridge and she kept us all thoroughly engrossed as she... More

Spent a day and a half in Venice recently and after reading numerous reviews, decided to go ahead with the booking. The tour guide was Fiona Giusto. After several emails and a skype call, we finalised on the plan. Fiona's response time and guidance throughout was of great help. As for the tour itself, we split it across an afternoon... More

Fiona met us at our hotel and took us on a 2 hour walking tour of Venice. When I was writing in my journal that night, I realized how much we learned from Fiona. Her English is very good. She made suggestions of how to best spend our time when we returned to Venice from our cruise and gave us... More

It was a pleasant to have Fiona Giusto as our Venice guide. She was friendly, knowledgable and able to answer our questions. It was a very hot day, she ensured we drank water regularly and walked at a slow pace to enable us to have a good look at our surroundings, explained the paintings and tombs at Basilica of Santa... I booked a 2 hour tour with Fiona to see the Doge's Palace and Saint Marks Basilica for my family of 5 . Fiona is a wealth of knowledge. She gave us a wonderful tour of the palace. I'm so glad that we booked a tour for the Doge's Palace or else I would never know what exactly I was... More

We toured Venice with Fiona with a 4 hour walking tour for our family including 2 teenagers. We booked the tour to include a trip to Murano to see a glass factory, but as we spoke with Fiona we determined our hotel could arrange something and we could tour more of Venice with Fiona. I am so glad she made... More

We just loved Fiona! We had her take us on a two hour walking tour and a one hour private water taxi tour. She was just fabulous. Her accent is very clear; she is easy to understand. We had 4 other tour guides throughout our stay in Italy and we all kept comparing them to Fiona. My 16 year stated... More

This was my first visit to Venice. I had only 1 day to see the city before boarding a cruise ship. I arranged for a 4 hour walking tour of the center of the city with Fiona Giusto for our group of 11. She did an excellent job. She customized her tour to exactly what we wanted and she made... More

The three of us hired Fiona for a few hours to see Venice from a native's perspective. From personalizing what we wanted to see and providing us with lots of information about the city, it really made our trip. I do not think we could have seen or learned so many things if we had stayed a few more days.... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
