We toured Venice for two days with Luisella at the end of May. She is a bright, charming, humorous, caring person, but that's only the start. Luisella is immensely knowledgeable and has an uncanny ability to weave art, architecture, religion, politics, world history, geology and more into a captivating tapestry. I don't remember the last time I learned so much... More

Our family of six spent two days with Luisella. We did a 2 hour introduction to the beautiful city of Venice on our day of arrival and a full day tour the following day. I cannot say enough about Luisella!! She is one of the most engaging people I have ever met. She taught us so much about the city... More

What a fabulous lady Luisella is, from the moment we met her we knew she was going to be fantastic! There were 7 of us on our 4 hour tour, which comprised of the Rialto Bridge and Markets, San Polo, the Frari church and the Scuola of San Rocco. I was so pleased we did this tour as we went... More

We had an amazing 2 hour introduction walking tour of Venice with Luisella. She was charming, engaging, knowledgable and delightful. I would have been happy to have spent my whole 2 days in Venice with her (and taken her with us when we left!). Our two children who are 12 and 16 were enraptured as well. She deserves her #1... Foremost, Luisella is wonderful to work with and extremely knowledgable and gave our family an afternoon they will always remember. We were on a family trip - my wife, myself, our two sons, their wives and five grandchildren [ages 11-16]. We were arriving on a ship and this was a first time for our children and grandchildren. Venice was the... More

Luisella was delightful, very animated and interesting. I learnt so much about Venice and this tour was the highlight of my visit to Venice. I would recommend Luisella as a tour guide and especially the 'Coffee, Chocolate and Marionette tour'.

We had a fantastic time with luisella. She has so much information, her English is excellent and a delight to be in her company. The puppet man was excellent too and I loved the way he spoke about his puppets like they were his children. The coffee shop was excellent too, learning all the different coffees available and why it... More

I emailed Luisella way back in September to book her for a 3 hour combined walking and water taxi tour in Venice at the end of June. We hoped all along someone else would join us to help share the expense of the tour. We kept in touch during the winter and I had still told her I didn't have... More

Since we had limited time in Venice, we decided to book 2 tours with Luisella. Communicating with her was a breeze, she was so pleasant and accommodating (other tour operators could learn from her). She took us on a 2 hour tour of some neighborhoods, so we could get a feel of the real Venice, away from the crowds, and... More

Luisella is personable and informative. A delight to be around and a goldmine of information. She made our Venice introductory tour one of the highlights of our stay. Her reviews say it all - if you can get any time at all with Luisella grab it!

Staying in Giudecca

Neighborhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
