My name's Luisella Romeo and I am a registered tourist guide in Venice. I run SeeVenice and offer private and semi-private tours in Venice and to the islands in the Venetian lagoon such as Murano, Burano and Torcello. You can also book walking tours in the city, both orientation tours and itineraries along the off-the-beaten paths. Boat tours with private watertaxi along the canals and guided tours to all museums and churches are also included as well as to temporary art exhibitions.

I was on this tour with Luisella near the end of May, and I notice that a reviewer a couple of reviews ago, who was on this tour, gave a wonderful description of our 4 hour adventure with Luisella that day, so I will not try to duplicate it here. There were 7 of us on this tour and it... More

Our group of 3 couples was fortunate to spend parts of three of our four days in Venice with Luisella as our guide. We were all first-timers in visiting Venice, and this approach proved to be an excellent way to learn about this great city. Luisella is very knowledgeable, personable, accommodating, and humorous -- a true delight! She has a... More

Loredella was fantastic! Lovely articulate and extremely knowledgeable. This was a last minute decision for a tour in Venice- we were lucky that Loredella was available and only because of a cancellation! She only had time for 3 hours, but sent us in our way with a great knowing of Venice history and also made suggestions of what else to... More

My husband and I booked a Mediterranean cruise in 2014 for sailing in 2015. We had 3 days in Venice at the start of the cruise. We found See Venice on Trip Advisor and booked 2 separate tours with Luisella; the St Marks Square tour and the Dorsoduro District tour. Dealing with Luisella was delightful. We contacted her in October... More

I have visited Venice several times and am always looking for something new to see. I have taken tours with Luisella before and have always been very impressed with her knowledge and passion. On my current trip I booked this tour and it was outstanding. We started with Luisella telling us about the history of coffee in Venice at our... More

Luisella's newest tour was fantastic. First off, I don't like coffee, but this tour was so good (and Luisella arranged ahead of time for me to have a special chocolate drink while at the coffee house - which was a total surprise to me - how awesome is that?) and I learned so much about how coffee came to Venice... We spent two half-days with Luisella, and were very tired (Luisella has boundless energy and never broke a sweat as we followed her through miles of back alleys and shortcuts she learned as a child) but very satisfied with our tour. She and her family have lived in the area for all their lives, so she can give insight and... More

Luisella is outstanding! She listened to what we were interested in and then made sure to tick off all the right boxes, including some that we hadn't even expected. We were interested in seeing artisans at work and Luisella delivered! We enjoyed getting to meet local artists and watching them work, while Luisella graciously translated our questions and praise. Thanks... More

Luisella Romeo is the best guide we have ever had! She was fascinating, full of precise information and facts infused with humor. Her English is superb. I would recommend her one hundred percent of the time.

We took this tour as a couple and met Luisella in St Marks at the appointed time and shared the experience with 3 other couples. What would you want, a tour with 30 other people where you can't get near the guide or a guide who speaks to you every few minutes. Luisella is fantastic, perfect English with a great... More

Staying in Giudecca

Neighborhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
