My name's Luisella Romeo and I am a registered tourist guide in Venice. I run SeeVenice and offer private and semi-private tours in Venice and to the islands in the Venetian lagoon such as Murano, Burano and Torcello. You can also book walking tours in the city, both orientation tours and itineraries along the off-the-beaten paths. Boat tours with private watertaxi along the canals and guided tours to all museums and churches are also included as well as to temporary art exhibitions.

Luisella is a fabulous tour guide. We arranged a tour which included a 45 minute walking tour, an hour boat ride through the canals and 30 minutes in Saint Mark's Basilica. The tour was totally engaging even for my 3 teenage daughters. Luisella is a wonderful story teller who was able to weave together the history of Venice with the... More

We're not great fans of guided tours and prefer to pick our way around at our own pace. However it was clear after 4 days in Venice there was still a lot we didn't know and managed to get on a tour with Luisella at the last minute of the Palace. What can we say which hasn't already been said... More

We toured with Luisella on a semi-private tour of the Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Basilica. She was a wonderful story-teller and was able to convey just the right amount of information in a detailed, yet interesting fashion. She had a lovely personality and was both charming and witty. Luisella was even able to engage our jet lagged 12 year... More

We did two different semi-private tours with Luisella Romeo. She made Venice come to life! Her passion and knowledge of little know details of the places and things we saw made it all the more interesting. I would highly recommend her if you are visiting Venice!

See Venice with Luisella and you you will not be disappointed. Luisella will make Venice come to life for you. She is knowledgeable, personable, humorous, and a lot of fun. Plus, she will help you avoid the crowds where possible. The best investment we made in Venice! North Carolina visitors

Our family just returned from a Mediterranean Cruise which began and ended in Venice. I had contacted Luisella about being our guide after reading all the glorious reviews of her talents as a guide on Tripadvisor. We could not have had a better guide! There are 11 in our family - 6 adults, a 19 year old college student, two... More

Really enjoyed the tour with Luisella. She is very friendly, welcoming and informative. She also has a great sense of humour, as well as being passionate about Venice and its artisans. We did the tourist area bit at St Marks but she then walked us around quieter parts where only a few locals were. She also pointed out good places... More

Yes, she is very good. As per her suggestion, we did a 2 part tour of Venice.... Walking and by boat. She was informative, engaged and professional. The walking tour gave you a taste of the "bowels" of Venice, while the boat tour shows you glamorous Venice. Great choice for a guided tour.

Oh my gosh, couldn't have been happier. My husband so didn't want to come to Venice, just thought of it as commercial tourist spot. But meeting Luisella and giving her a free hand designing our tour made us sooo happy we came. There is a Venice very charming and full of old customs. The knowledge of the island we learned... My wife Karen and our buddy Laura visited the beautiful enchanting City of Venice in April. We live in New York City. Venice is a marvel, a romantic, seductive, mysterious and friendly place. The whole city is a work of art that contains so many layers you wish you could get to know them all. Luisella is perfection in bringing... More

Staying in Giudecca

Neighborhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
