Too many shops selling crap, too many selfie stick sellers... and very very crowded. I was very disappointed by this. Somehow I thought it would be better. You have to cross it at some point.. so don't make a point of seeing.. you will cross it as some point and want to get the hell out of there as quickly... More

One side of the bridge was covered and being worked on while we were there, so the photo opportunities were limited. There are lots of shops on the bridge and people are selling stuff everywhere. It is always crowded and there is a wait to get a spot next to the railing to get a picture.

Staying at San Croce, you take the winding streets to this famous bridge and it is sadly very crowded and under repair, so the view isn't as great as you anticipate. It is the halfway point to San Marco, and it is very congested with tourists and little souvenir shops. The Scalzi bridge over by the train station offers a... More

Beautiful bridge from the water and from standing on it looking over the grand canal. So worn from all the crowds over the years, currently covered partly for renovations. The worst thing is the gang of illegals selling selfie sticks and all the tourist tat surrounding the place, But a must see all the same!

This was my favorite spot in all Venice. I loved the bridge and the amazing views of the Grand Canal. I was also attracted to the many shops and restaurants in the area. I took many photos of this bridge and will always remember it as providing an excellent vantage point from which to view many parts of the city.... More

Very Disappointed. I realize every bridge needs maintenance, but to get to this famous bridge and see half of it under scaffolding, was heartbreaking. Of course trying to get a "view" of the canal from remaining half was almost impossible with the amount of people now condensed into half the bridge. But the open half was still as beautiful.

The bridge itself is a wonderful piece of architecture. However, it is hard to remember this when you are trying not to fall over the tourists sitting on the steps and also avoiding the selfie stick sellers. The shops on either side, as you walk across, sell the usual touristy souvenirs. If you can find a space amongst the crowds,... More

A bit of a let down. The Rialto is under repairs as at May, 2015. It is partially covered with a painted facade. I was here more than 30 years ago and found it quite charming. Now it just seems to be full of crap souvenir vendors. We took some photos, crossed over and had no desire to spend a... More
