Rialto Bridge

Reminded me of what I learnt in history of the shops that at one time were on the London Bridge before the fire of London.

A walk through the city from the landing square will inevitably bring you here. Under repair when we visited, the shops over and around the bridge, perhaps unsurprisingly, kept souvenir and knick knacks. Still there were a couple of nice restaurants nearby!

It's in restauration, so don't expect to get great views from the bridge, because of the scaffolding. Best way to see it is from a boat on the Canal Grande (linea 1 will do nicely)

It is worth baring in mind that if you travel into Venice to see the sights - some of their main building/bridges are under construction. The Rialto Bridge was still open to cross over, and I was still glad that we walked to see it and its view, however the vast majority of the bridge was covered with net and... More

You're in Venice so you have to go over and under the bridge. Half of it is covered in scaffolding. The shops on it are all selling tourist rubbish. Go and see it but don't expect to be wowed.

Fortunately we have been before and seen it's splendour but at the moment it is covered in building works so not much to see . Probably it is best to get a photo from a water bus or water taxi as you go under it .

One cannot believe the passion and care the craftsmen took to create this magical bridge that still stands strong and bold today as though it was erected only yesterday. It is a place to stand and watch the world float by in various water craft. It is a place to while away the time watching the passing parade of tourists... More

This is a beautiful bridge in Venice. It is an easy walk no matter where you are staying. There are neat shops all along it. Great photo opportunities!
