We did the Secret Itineraries tour of Doge's Palace, we both felt that it was well worth the money, as you get a good understanding of the history of the palace and it takes the experience to another level. It does get toasty in the hidden rooms (If it is hot outside) so I would suggest going first thing in... more

I will only point two things I did not like, the guide we had was boring and you can not take any photos inside. Of course I understand the reason, just I don't like it. But the story and the palace itself is great. My advise is, if you don't like guides, or you have bad experince with them, just... more

What a fantastic tour. For your ticket price (few euros more than the normal price) , as well as getting access to the palace you also get a 75 minute escorted tour around parts not normally opened to public. These included the secret councils rooms, Casanova's cells and access into the loft areas. Our tour guide provided excellent information throughout... more

We wanted to visit the Doge's Palace, and to do the "Secret" tour, which includes extras such as Casanova's cell, which are not accessible with the regular entrance fee. I searched a number of sites, and most will charge up to 10Euros extra for just processing your booking, and others will include it as part of a larger tour, over... more

I just loved the splendour and the workmanship in this palace. It is very stately and an echo of how rich the doges were. Strangely enough there is little furniture but apparently this is due to the fact that each doge left his furniture to his family. The painting in the enormous council room 'Paradise' is the largest canvas in... more

In October we bought into all of the hype about the "secret tour" of the doge's palace and unfortunately then spent (what seemed like hours) wandering around the inner walls and attic of the Palazzo Ducale hearing a rather puffed up story about Casanova and his incarceration. Everyone on the tour was thoroughly bored and restless. When the tour finally... more

We had read in the guide book to take when visiting the Doge's Palce to the 'secret tour', which we did, and it was excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed it and the details about the 'hidden' rooms and stories about Casanova were great. Definetly worrth the money which was not very much and we booked the day before we wanted to... more

I am glad we did the Doges Palace. Don't get the audio guide - very boring and monotone. We did seem to wander about and wonder if we missed anything as we the Secret Tours were booked solid. more

The interior of the building is pretty and very interesting, but I wish we could have taken the Secret Itinerary tour for a bit more information. Book it several days in advance. Otherwise, you just kind of meander about. more

We enjoyed our visit at the Doge’s Palace and would recommend it to those visiting Venice. Venice has an interesting history and much of it was centered around its government and the Doge’s Palace. Based on guidebook recommendations, we booked the Secret Itineraries Tour. This was done online and had to be paid for in advance. Be aware that this... more
