Private tour is well worth the cost

Our guide was fantastic and got us entry without queuing at all the popular sites. Her knowledge of relevant history greatly improved the experience.

Mirium picked us up at Piazalle Roma in a comfortable air conditioned sedan. Prosecco is about an hour drive from Venice. We visited a small family owned vineyard in the morning, touring the operations, and enjoyed a fabulous tasting of both sparkling and still wines. We stopped at a beautiful waterfall and historic flour mill on the way to lunch... More

Miriam was a disappointment on many levels. My husband had arranged this tour with Miriam many months before arriving in Venice. We were very specific about what we would like to see and had read extensively about Palladio. I have an MA in fine art and a minor in art history so this experience was to fulfill my interest in... Miriam was incredibly accommodating to our vegan diet! She went out of her way to research and provide. She took us on a special hiking excursion through the Dolomites! She was super knowledgeable and made for easy conversation. We could not recommend her enough! Thank you, Miriam!

Miriam was excellent. My wife and I were in Venice and really wanted to go and see the Dolomites. Miriam came highly recommended, so we took the advice of the reviews here on TripAdvisor. Miriam was friendly, informative and took us on an all day tour of the Dolomites. If we're ever in Venice again, we'll definitely be looking to... More

Miriam's tour of wine country was one of our favorite activities in Europe. We visited a small Valpolicella winery where one of the brothers who owns it took us behind the scenes to his cellar and explained how his wine is made. Tasting was in a room filled with large windows overlooking the surrounding hills. For lunch had the best... More

In short, I want to give Miriam's Prosecco tour into the Veneto my highest rating. Our day in the Veneto was one of the high points in our week-long visit to Venice. Miriam picked us up right on time at the Piazzale Roma as planned and we drove off into the Veneto. We passed the country villas of the wealthy... More

My husband and I were desperate to get away from the Venice crowds during a very busy holiday weekend, and I found Veneto Tours on Google. I sent a request for a next day booking at 2:30 pm on a Friday, and luckily Miriam was able to accommodate our private tour on Saturday WITH a baby seat for our 11-month-old!... More

This tour was one of the highlights of our week in Venice. We wanted a soave wine tour rather than the usual prosecco tours. We only called on Tuesday and Miriam had everything organised by Thursday. We visited two vineyards in the Soave region. The morning tour was of the vineyard and was incredibly informative as to the area, soil... More

What can I say this was the highlight of our hoilday to Venice. We booked a fabulous tour to visit two family run prosecco producers. Both were very informative, friendly and generous with the tasting and snacks. Lunch was in Asolo, a picturesque mountain town with lovely views. I definitely recommend this trip. It is a really nice day out... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
