The spectacular views of St. Marks square and the wonderfully enthusiastic tour guide made this a highlight of my trip to Venice. You are taken all the way up the clock tower while the guide recounts the history of its creation, the cultural symbolism on the facade (for instance, why is the lion shown holding an open book?) the quirks... more

Just took a clock tower tour this past Saturday (August 2008.) We really enjoyed the visit. It was inhabited up until 10 years ago, and now is part of the Museo Correr. You are encouraged to book tickets beforehand online at http://www.museiciviciveneziani.it., but it appears you can also book the tours directly at the Museo Correr. The price was a... more

We were in Venice June 18-21, 2005 and you still aren't able to see it. It remains covered. more

When I was in Venice in Oct 2000 the clock tower was being repaired and was covered by the trompe l'oeil that they use over a building when repairs are being made. I was just there again in Nov 2002 and it is still covered. I guess I will just have to keep going back until I can see it.... more
