We happened to be walking by Sunday afternoon and were treated to a free tour of the Basilica. The mosaics are beyond belief! A must see!!!

The painted ceilings were so intricate. To really appreciate them, I would recommend taking a mirror. I took a small mirror from a bathroom cabinet which because it magnified enhanced the experince 100 fold.
