Me and my travel didn't ride on the gondola, we ride on the water bus that cost Euro20 each person for 24 hours free ride, to enjoy the view along the city and it was still satisfying. The view of the city from the water bus is spectacular and have a kind of feeling that we were dreaming, everything was... More

The Grand Canal runs through venice. You must catch a water taxi at least once to speed through the canal, Such fun but expensive however you can choose a short distance which will control the cost!. Oh and try the vaporetto, much cheaper and works like a water bus. I recommend catching it at night and enjoy going past the... More

Whether you are walk over it or riding on it the canal is spectacular.A gondola is pricey, but we felt that it was something that we really had to do. Expect to pay 80 euro daytime and more at night. The price is per boat, so sharing is a possibility. The view of the city from the water is spectacular.

Jump on a regular boat, stations are dotted all the way along the canal. You can get off and on whenever you want. Its the best and (cheapest) way to get around.

As per the title, it is the lifeline of Venice. If you really want to play tourist, you can do a gondola ride, which again is almost mandatory if you have never before visited this city.

We drove in from Rome via the Autostrada and parked at Tronchetta Parking structure. We took the water taxi from Tronchetta into Venice. I recommend buying a roundtrip pass to/from the parking structure into Venice. When you return there are a few shops that are still open in the evening when you arrive. The water taxi stops at many different... More
