It feels like you are in a movie or at Disney World, it just doesn't seem possible that it is real. The only thing missing is quaint Italian music playing while you float down the Canal and view all the beautiful buildings and window boxes with flowers.

Buy a pass and have a blast touring the Grant Canal as the palazzo's go by on either side of the boat. You can travel to the islands of Murano, Burano and Tiburna as well.

I didn't take a gondola ride, nor a vaporetto...but when the view from 3 bridges is breath-taking...1 is the main Rialto bridge...another is the Ponte della Contituzione connecting Ferrovia to Piazzale Roma...and the Ponte dei Scalzi at Ferrovia...at each place, standing in the middle of the bridge try to shut out all the sounds around you...and the result is amazing..!!

This place was once beautiful, but, being in the heart of tourism, it has lost much of its former glory.

While in Venice:) Canal ride was fantastic. Being on the grand canal was the least impressive part to me. I like the side canals better!

We bought a 72 hour pass and would ride the Vaporetto around the Grand Canal every afternoon when we were too tired to walk. If you get on at a stop that is not busy away from the main attractions you can get a seat outside and up front and then just enjoy the ride. So much better than a... More

We flew into Venice (went once before, several years ago and took the train into Venice) and were relieved to find it so easy to navigate. We then took a water taxi to our hotel. This was the first day of our 3 week European vacation) so we were both jet lagged and giddy with excitement. We even enjoyed when... More

We took a gondola ride and our boat attendant was not friendly at all and he was more interested in hollering to his other friends on their boats than telling us interesting points, he did point out two sites, but we thought we would been explained more about the area and given us historic facts. He did not receive as... More

One of the top things to see in Venice! Forget the gondola, buy a return ticket to Piazalle Roma with the Vaporeto and make sure you have enough battery on your camera.
