Buy a vaporetto 3 or 4 day pass rather than pay each time. Great way to get around Venice- costs 30 Euro for 4 days.

I have been to Venice multiple times, and will keep going back. Not only is a city that anybody who likes traveling should see, but it is also very dear to my heart because my grandfather was born and grew up there, so I feel it in my blood. All I can say it is beautiful, and a must see!

Venice is very wellknown of its canal. The Grand Canal split San Marco and San Polo island. It forms a reverse S shape and functions as the major water traffic corridor in the city. It is beautiful, unique and become the tourist attraction.

Grand Canal is very nice with lots of lovely buildings. Pity the Rialto Bridge was covered by hoardings so it could not be seen properly.

Its impossible not to go to Venice and not see the Grand Canal. Its beautiful. Take the ferry and get a nice view of it, as well as walking along the edge of it. Have some great photos and memories from here. Also took a Gondola ride on the GC in the evening, wonderful and romantic.

We enjoyed a gondola on the Grand canal and were not disappointed! most people recommend the back streets for rides but for us the grandeur of the canal was just amazing!

Get a water taxi number 1 which stops at all the stops along the grand canal so gives you a really nice scenic tour. Can get busy on the water bus in the middle of the day but there are loads of buses so you dont need to wait long for the next one. Get a one or two day... More

It's a unique, noisy, busy, colourful, throbbing artery of the city, and pretty as a picture. What is not to like?
