From Piazza Roma take vaporetto nr. 1 or 2 with Piazza San Marco destination. Then you can walk back and see other attractions in wonderful Venice. During this trip you'll see beautiful buildings and hear songs from "gondola ".For sure you'll take hundreds of picture.

I am a people watcher and had the best time in Venice. The Grand Canal is named correctly. It is so busy with traffic of the bus/ferries and work/ferries. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help if you need it.

Its a must see because sits so unique and beautiful BUT the crowds are crazy. Its like times Square on New Year's Eve with people and the canal is packed with water taxis, gondolas, vaporettos, delivery boats, etc..Crazy water traffic. Take a picture and find a spot to catch your breath.

It's simply beautiful, like the rest of Venice. Make sure to get a glance of all famous palazzos around it! A simply unforgettable experience...

It isn't necessary to pay for water taxis in Venice- make time for travel using the vaporetta or water buses. There is no better place to appreciate the excitement and beauty of Venice than from the middle of the grand canal. The palazzos look wonderful, but even more amazing is being out in the hustle and bustle of everyday Venice.... More

A fascinating city of which the waterways are integral. A city well visited by tourists particularly in summer.

Of course the grand canal lives up to its reputation. Must see in Venice but I don't know how you could miss it!

Like the gondola ride a lot! A bit pricey though and the gondolier doesn't really take us for 40 minutes ride as agreed before hand. We only had 30 minutes plus and this included the gondola jam in one of the little canal. And the gondolier also smoked cigarette but luckily the wind was blowing the opposite direction, otherwise this... More
