Visited on the last day of a school trip as a 16 year old in 2007. Most of my fellow students had no interest in the grandeur of Venice (much to my dismay). I could not believe my eyes. I have been to many different European cities since and Prague is the only other one that had me similarly awestruck... More

The Grand Canal winds its way through Venice and is a real sight to behold. We came upon the Canal at the Academia Ferry Station and the canal here was well over 100' across and spanned by various footbridges as you looked in either direction. The day we spent wandering around Venice was a damp, overcast November day, so the... More

Water taxi gives a great view along the Grand Canal. Worth taking a few trips at different times of day and night. What a very special city Venice is!

a brilliant journey through history, a fabulous experience being driven on a slow vaporetto at night, The moon was out, the night was crisp, the reflection of the palazzos on the water was magical, don't miss it.

Love Venice so can't fault it, bit annoying is the street traders trying to sell selfie sticks but goes with the territory I suppose
