We had a fantastic time on both the Ancient Rome and Vatican tours! Our guides were extremely informative while adding dimensions to our trip we would not have experienced if we adventured into these amazing sites by ourselves. We booked for the skip the lines tickets but enjoyed it much more than our expectations. Great job and we will be... More

We always seek out on of these type of things when we go away & were glad to get booked on this given the history of the place.....as it normally involves a wander off the beaten track with the opportunity to here a few tales of the past. Our guide was Kristina ( i think that was her name..!!)..spoke good... More

Antonella was our guide for the walking tour of Florence. She made the museums very interesting and was so kind to my grandchildren (9 & 13) and spent time showing them museums can be fun and educational and not boring. Thanks to Avventure Bellissime for making our Italy tour a great experience.

Luca was Amazing. We Toured the Coliseum, Forum, Ancient Ruins, Vatican and St. Peters Basilica. Luca's insight, local and historical knowledge were second to none. He made us feel like we were insiders and spending the day with him was the highlight of our two week journey. I highly recommend Avventure Bellissime and Luca if you are in Rome. He... More

Whilst I enjoyed the walk and the boat trip the walk was 1 1/2 hours and 3 hours later we took the boat trip. Both were excellent but this means it's not really a day as we expected as billed. The guides were great but one of the guys handing out the headphones was almost blind drunk. He smelled. I'm... More

I first went on and enjoyed the 'Ghost Walk' led by Francesco in December 2012. Then I when brought a school group to Venice in March 2015 I thought it would be an excellent evening entertainment for our students. Kristina and Francesco brought the city to life through their fantastic story telling mixed with historical and geographical facts. Not only... More

My husband and I went to Rome for the Holy Week. The very reason why we chose Rome for this time of the year...for us to hear mass on Easter Sunday at St. Peter's Basilica. But since we are already in Rome, then it would be a shame if we don't visit its grand ancient structures and know it's history.... More

We are a family of four and went on a super trip to Dolomites from Venice on 30 March. Giovanni was our driver. He was wonderful and made our trip fun, relaxed and truly memorable. Highly recommend this trip. Thank you Giovanni. Yvonne from Ireland

Very easy to find the meeting point. The guide was great and somewhat animated which made it fun. She explained the history at a level we could understand. She took us through small alleys and to The Rialto. That really added to our experience in Venice. We thought the tour description stated that we would break for an hour for... More

Our guide, Francesco, did a great job of leading us through dark alleys and narrow streets to tell us various stories of Venetian intrigue and mayhem. Fun and informative...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
