This was the second time I took part in the "Original Venice Walk", with my husband this time. And again, despite the fact that the St Marco Basilica was suddenly closed, we had a veeeery nice walk around the city. The guide was a fantastic lady who has lived in Venice all her life, and she told us a lot... More

This company was wonderful never dropped the ball once, actually came to my rescue a few times! The drivers were always on time and very professional and their driving made me feel safe. The tour guides were so well educated on their topics and kept it interestingly! I had a custom tour and they worked out everything for me with... More

My husband and I went on the tour of the Amalfi Coast. Brando was our guide, and he was incredible! The company offers great support to its customers and fulfills its promises. Our trip was well-planned in every way, and we had an amazing day! We learned so much and saw so much! Great value!!!!

The entire family loved the Original Venice Ghost & Legends Walking Tour. It's less scary and more history-oriented, which we all liked. Our guide was wonderful and spoke perfect English. We toured back streets that we would never have found unless we were very lost. I'd recommend this tour and any of Avventure Bellissime's tours to anyone visiting Venice.

This tour was broken up into 3 parts . You could do it all in one day or on different days if you preferrred. We did it all in one day. The first tour was a visit to Doge's Palace. Our guide was fantastic! He was so knowledgable, articulate and friendly! The two hours flew by. There were no lines... More

We booked the Veneto Hill Towns Small Group Day Trip from Venice. From the time we met, the guide was most attentive, rounding up those who had lost their way. The vehicle was comfortable and there was plenty of room for all. We visited some amazing hill towns such as Bressano and Asolo and our guide was with us all... More

Massimo and Salvatore are related. In fact, they are related to much of the population of Positano. That means they know everybody and everything, and they can take you wherever you want to go. In our case, we wanted to go all the way to Rome. No problem. Massimo was prompt, polite, cheerful, and patient. He pointed out sites along... More

We had booked the tour for the hill towns of Venitzio for the Wednesday. We had an email from Avventure asking whether we would move it to the Saturday, which we agreed to. We used the People Mover train from Piazza Del Roma to Tronchetto, and couldn't find the vaporetto stop - the instructions sent are not good on this.... More

Nicolette gave a very informative tour of things like the fish market, the old "red light" area, art history etc. The tour went by very fast. She had a great way of describing the little details of parts of Venice that made it fun and entertaining. not strenuous. The walking pace is not strenuous but moves a long so you... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
