Actually the Scrovegni Chapel was a highlight of our trip. It's true about the decontamination room (!) and the 20 min. slots, but you can get double slots for extra $. The Scrovegni Chapel in Padua is breathtaking. The lapis ceiling and most of the 40 major frescoes are still in good shape and his genius shines through.
