loads of cafes on this square, crowded with students (it's a univeristy town) with numerous Gelaterias including at least two eco-friendly ones and a large astronomical clock on one of the towers.

This is a place you can not miss while visiting Padua, but make sure you do it by having dinner while having an outdoor dinner seating under the stars with the vibrant ambiance and delicious Italian food in the piazza itself!

A beautiful square jammed with hungry tourists in the evening. Get there by 8 p.m. for a good table.

In the morning it is full of market stalls and in the evening the piazza is full with tables and chairs of surrounding cafes. You can hardly appreciate the piazza.

During the day it is great place to be to shop the surrounding business's. At night - have dinner in a wonderful café and then take a passagio around the square as you feast on the best Italian gelato ever!!

In the summertime it is very nice to go for a late night drink here in the great piazza among the dozens of tables with hundreds and thousands of young people just chatting about. But don't come here for the food - it's nothing to write about and most places don't even serve it. Grab something to eat somewhere else... More

Lots of eating and drinking establishments, which are particularly busy in the evenings - although not too late, due to local residents' complaints. Has a clothing market during the day, which rather spoils the layout. Overall, very historic and a good place to sit, eat, drink and watch the workings of the clock.

This is a beautiful piazza that has been put to use to make the most of it. In the morning the markets spread out over a number of piazzas including this one. Very good markets, too. In the middle of the day they are dismantled and it is a wonderful area to stroll and take in the beauty and the... More

Its the same place , but it offers so many different things depending on the time of the day. In the morning there are the markets , then when they shut up and move out the tables and chairs come out onto the square.People take apparetivos in the evening time while they eat crisps . The gypsy musicians sing songs... More

A great place to sit outside in the square, and/or people-watch. Surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and gelatterias. We really liked walking and hang around Piazza delle Erbe.
