I have been following the building of the new lift. If you are spending time in this beautiful part of the world. this is a MUST do. It is not cheep BUT you might never do it again. It is a day out for you to remember forever and all doable if you are staying at the Camelia in Aviernoz... More

Absolutely a must if you are around the Courmayeur/Aosta area. The whole project of the new Skyway is a masterpiece of Italian design and engineering, with well finished details and materials, all well integrated with the natural environment, and everything designed for you to look outside and enjoy the Alps. The cafeteria at Punta Helbronner offers good snacks, drinks, and... More

Recently this magnificent "funiculare" was totally updated. The views of the Mont Blanc massif are stunning. There is a very nice cafe, a museum of crystals and a 360 terrace with views and panoramas of the Italian and French alps. You can cross over to Chamonix but the funiculare is much older on the French side. Take note... The station... More

During our 2 night stay at Courmayeur in October 2014 - we visited this place twice :) It was absolutely cold with rains catching up with us during this trip. The whole ride is divided into 3 sections - 1st level is a Pavilion which has a garden, a small museum, terrace and a restaurant, further up there is Torino... More

Unfortunately, fog limited visibility somewhat. So choose a sunny day. Prepare for a long trek up a looooong flight of stairs...

An experience not to be missed. A small historic ski lift (and a stark contrast to the more modern ones at Dolonne and Cormayeur) and it will be gone later this year when the new state of the art ski lift is finished and in service. On the weekday we went up (non-skiers) it was very quiet and our travelling... More

Built in 1938 this hisotric life and one of Europe's highest is a great experience. The views are incredible and on top the air is thin and you feel as if you can reach out and touch the top of Mont Blanc. This classic cable car will be closed down soon being replaced by an expensive and modern mass people... More

Although it's not yet possible to get all the way up to Punta Helbronner, the trip to the Refugio Torino on the Funivie Monte Bianco is an incredible journey! Anyone who has read about Mont Blanc will find the views of all its pillars, towers and glaciers truly awesome! It is worth climbing the 200 or so steps to the... More
