I wasn't prepared for the visual feast these gardens provided! I went planning a short walk around, but spent almost an entire day strolling on the various loops with specific focus of vegetation. This could be the highlight of a European trip for many.

It might be the title of a good movie, but it is only the review of a spectacular place. Start to finish, the beauty of nature will capture your eyes, and you won't have any intention to leave. You might not be a nature lover, you might not have a passion for flowers and plants, but you will absolutely fall... More

Interesting castle which was once used by Sissi when on Holiday in the Alps. The view is spetacular: The Alps/Dolomites. You can walk in the Garden of the castle, which is carefully cared. There are different paths to follow and each one is focused on one kind of plants and flowers. The Garden is huge. You need at least 3... More

Even my non-garden enthusiast other half thought these gardens pretty impressive, an accolade indeed! We arrived soon after 10 am, and would recommend this for two reasons: avoiding the crowds pretty much completely, and being able to tackle the winding hillside paths in pleasantly cool shade in summer. We headed up to the highest areas first and then wound our... More

We were only there for about 2 hours. The brochure suggested 2 and a half hours would be sufficient, but by no means! We could have stayed for much longer if we had not been going on somewhere else. The gardens are brilliant, so much to see and very well laid out. Trails to follow and lots of places to... More

A repeat visit for us and we loved it once again. Encapsulates all that a garden should be and lots to see and do. The travel museum is a really nice free bonus. Highly recommended.

I am definitely not a keen gardener but I thought these gardens were truly amazing. The gardens are on the side of a steep hillside but the path layout enables even those with some mobility difficulties to gain access to most areas, but not the higher reaches. Definitely well worth a visit.
