I am definitely not a keen gardener but I thought these gardens were truly amazing. The gardens are on the side of a steep hillside but the path layout enables even those with some mobility difficulties to gain access to most areas, but not the higher reaches. Definitely well worth a visit.

We visited this on the last day of our holiday and wished we'd done it sooner! It's full of outstanding beauty and is huge! There's so much to see; you really can spend a day in there.

Unbelievable value for money. The large gardens offer a variety that is breathtaking and you can only imagine how much hard work has gone into them. The restaurant provides good food at teasonable prices, and the tourism museum was extremely interesting. The gardens also offer great photo opportunities of the castle and the surrounding mountains. A clear recommendation.

We had heard of the Trauttmansdorff Gardens but only a visit will do them justice! Truly a magical place. We visited in the afternoon when the number of visitors was lower so we could really taken in the atmosphere of the place. Truly a gem and worth all the accolades it has been given. A must do on any trip... More

The well laid out gardens are quite compact and the zig-zag paths enable close viewing of the well labelled flowers, shrubs and trees, divided into 4 principal themes. For the more active there are longer walks through the trees. The annual plants provide a riot of colour in a number of places. Of further interest are places like the insect... More

Everything was outstanding about this extensive landscaped garden with so much to admire and experience. From the entertaining birds in the aviary to the forbidden garden, the beautiful Japanese garden and planted clay cliffs there was so much to appreciate and oh so much more! On a very hot day we still enjoyed 6 hours on site. Ten euros by... More

Wonderful garden, with different sections, from local farmer gardens in the older times up to the garden at the time Sissi was visiting this area. Nice done, also possible to see nearly everything with a stroller to push around. Great point is the balcony hanging on some steel ropes 40 meters over the forrest. Nice playing area for kids. Merano is a beautiful small city, peacefull, at the italian Alps. These gardens talk of a past when royalty used to pass their summer vacations

Beautiful gardens, interesting and well tended to. Beautiful walks, and whilst there were a lot of people in the gardens, the area covered was so large one didn't notice the crowds. Well worth a visit
