Trauttmansdorf Castle Gardens are spectacular, if you are an admirer of beautiful flowers, this is the place for you! We went on a Wednesday and it was not very crowded, but seeing how many parking areas they have, I could see how it would crowded on weekends or holidays. Bring some comfortable shoes, there is lots to see. They also... More

Fantastic setting, beautiful flowers and trees plus educational exhibits. Maybe challenging for people with walking difficulties as much of the gardens are on a steep hillside and a lot of walking up and down steep pathways or steps involved.

The gardens are very large, built on a hillside. The top offers great views (mountains often in clouds though). The hydrangeas were in full bloom and absolutely magnificent. We spent a whole day here. The exhibits inside buildings were also very interesting and the garden is easy to reach by public transit, free with some hotel stays.

It's my 2nd visit at this beautiful garden situated in the North of Italy. The weather was perfect for walking the different routes of this botanical garden. We started at the lily pond; continued up to the forest world and the greenhouse with its beautiful Orchids. We walked by the statue of Sisi, the Empress Elizabeth of Austria. Trauttmansdorff was... A array of colour, smells and spectacular diversity. This is a well thought through attraction, appealing to all ages. We spent almost a day meandering through the gardens, house and museum, our cameras couldn't keep up. Lots of interesting facts and things to participate in- guessing the different smells in the pipes was one we remembered. The cacti area was... More

These gardens were at their best in Spring. Very well laid out therefore easy to walk around. The plantings were superb. It was a joy to see all the blooms in various colour groupings. The restaurant had excellent food with good value prices. The museum in the castle was extremely interesting and well presented. The bus stops right outside the... More

We spent over 5 hours here on a beautiful sunny day taking in the amazing flowers. The variety in type and color was great. The tour book indicated that a typical visit was about 2+ hours, but we were so taken in by the beauty that you had to just stop and smell/enjoy the flowers. Enjoyed walking through the house... Went to the gardens yesterday and they exceeded my expectations! The garden is huge and very well maintained. It was the perfect day and it made me wish I could go back every day for a wander. Do yourself a favor and get lost in this amazing garden.

Gorgeous gardens consisting mainly of terraces leading down to a central ornamental lake full of carp. Full of scents and colour and other points of interest such as sculptures and a bizarre walk- through underground entertainment featuring Cerberus the 3 headed dog guarding the Underworld with dialogue mainly in German or Italian but the occasional English version. Pleasant cafe near... More

Possibly the best gardens I've visited in terms of range of plants and presentation. To compare it with something in the UK...Wisley but with bells and whistles.
