It's lined with porticoes and is the real heart of the city: here and hereabouts stand the great buildings that have witnessed the development of the city, from the ancient Roman era to our days. In the middle of the square stands Palazzo Madama and on the side you could see The Royal Theatre, The Royal Palace , the Royal Library (that houses Leonardo da Vinci 's operas). In Piazza Castello (The Castle Square) begin the most important central streets, like Rome Street, Po Street, Garibaldi Street and Pietro Micca Street. « less

Beautiful central place, with important buildings around. The place was designed by architect Vitozzi (1564). Splendid ornamental fence in front of the Royal Castle. The Royal Castle (Palazzo Reale) was built in 1646; part of the halls and rooms may be visited. Behind the palace, in a new wing, the greatest paintings belonging to Galeria Sabauda (Fra Angelico, Memling, van... More

Been there when Juventus were celebrating their 30th scudetto. Unforgettable. During the day, the piazza was one of the most beatiful ever seen. Add to that the celebrations and you have the perfect mixture. More

Where you can admire the superb Palazzo madama staircase, the royal palace main courtyard and the scenic pedestrian avenue leading to the Art deco train station via San carlo's square. A beautifull Italian square you will enjoy walking by. Ask for the Tourist Information's Barooque Turin's map where all palaces, churches and squares are listed and help you better spot... More

This piazza has Palazzo Madam in the center, flanked by Teatro Regio, and the Palazzo Reale at the far end. The gallerias throughout the area that keep you in the shade or out of the rain. More

Better during the night than not in daylight. The Royal Museum, the Royal Palace, the Royal Theatre, all royal there. My PEARL is Palazzo Madama: after a detailed inside tour, have a coffee in a superb cozy bar inside. You may possibly meet ... the King of Italy (just kidding). More

This attractive square has 3 closed sides and one with all the Tram stops and Bus stops. It is the hub of the transportation in Torino and you must learn where it is in order to get around easily. More

I noticed someone said beautiful to visit when it is sunny. So true, saw it like this first day in Turin. However, visiting Turin in the winter is awesome as well. The second day of our visit it snowed. It was spectacular in the snow! Either way Turin is great! More

It is to me one of the most beautiful squares of the city. At the end of the pedestrian Garibaldi street, full of boutiques and cafes, you enter this large and impressive square, facing the palazzo Madama, the ancient castle of Turin, with the Royal Palace on our left and many other ancient palaces surrounding it. On one side you... More
