We arrived just after Ash Wednesday and there was still a bit of a carnival going on. Lots of confetti strewn and being thrown about, lots of children dressed up and families enjoying the ambience. Tourists everywhere. Music and all sorts going on. There happened to be a clown event going in for the kids too. Very happy place, made... More

The center of one of the best city in Italy! Art, music, colors, shops and lights. Obviously you must to see this square if you are in Milano, not important if you are here for work or something else you must to come here and take at least one picture of this beautiful square.

The cathedral is impressive in itself. Unfortunately, due to the times, there is heavy presence of police and military on the square perimeter. This detracts from the atmosphere unfortunately.

I like this square because I get to see Mr Kabir Bedi at the square and got an opportunity to clicked one picture with him. Its a very crowded place. Nothing special about this square except one statue of a man riding horse. You can click one picture there and its a gateway to Duomo

The Cathedral is worth the visit. Also, spend the money to visit the roof top. Scary, but fun and great views. Stairs for the fit, elevator for others.

Visiting the duomo square every night was definitely the best part of my Milan trip! During the day its full of tourists and people taking tours of the duomo and is pretty hectic, but during the evening it is very chilled and relaxed. There's little vans which sell fresh gelato which are just delicious! Overall, everyone just shops and hangs... More

Definitely worth a visit if you're in Milan. The square is really nice, the surrounding buildings (not just the Duomo itself) are really nice and there's plenty to do and see nearby, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, gelato, shopping - it's all there.

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
