This is the heart of Milan, try to avoid the hordes of street vendors hawking selfie saticks, t shirts and other chotckas. They can be aggressive sometimes. Walk away if you can.

A lovely place to visit, night or day. It does get very busy but the atmosphere is great. I would love to return.

A very cool place but everywere you look around you will see people ready to give you some food for pigeons in order to take some photos and cry out for one euro after. They are very pushy.

It's a place full of life! I loved it. I recommend you to wait and see the sunset... the colour of the stone changes from white to orange and it's an espectacle for all your senses! Beautiful!

Duomo Square is a slice of European excellence. The square is swarming with tourists, locals, street vendors and the like. Besides the stunning views of the Duomo, there is spectacular shopping and restaurants that fan out from the square like bicycle spokes. You never know what you will encounter down each hall, but you will be greeted with wonderful aromas... More

Romantic piazza in front of the Cathedral and right by the gallery Emanuele II... Beautiful enigmatic piazza. The Italian choir with 500 singers performs there. Magical.

Only nice thing here is the church. It looks nice and gives some shadow. Visit the church, do not visit thr square.

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
