This place is easily accessible by metro. When you come out of the metro station you are right in the middle of the plaza in front of Duomo. It is very gigantic architectural facade with complicated sculptures. After you take the pictures of that backdrop, take time to tour inside cathedral (around 7 Euros per person, don't spend more for... More

The Duomo is massive, beautifully put together and a major attraction to the city. This trip we did not enter the Duomo but took the tourist route to the many different levels and angles where the views of the city are spectacular. Take a day and visit both the interior and the exterior with the many levels. The stairs are... More

I have visited the square but not the inside of the Duomo since I was a bit in a hurry. Of course, it looks amazing and the building it's impressive, but in the end this is a church so the advertising on it it's not so nice. A big shinny commercial for Samsung isn't really what you want to see... More

This main square is crowded with tourists, pigeons, and people selling fake luxury items and selfie sticks. You need to keep you wits about you or you'll get a 'friendship bracelet' of thread tied to your wrist and then pestered to pay for it. Not to mention pickpockets looking to relieve you of excess money. But the view of the... More

One of the places to visit in Milan. Close to Duomo and Victorio Emanuele II. Very crowded in weekends, better to visit during Wednesday or Thursday.

Get here early in the morning or in the late afternoon, especially in autumn... you'll never forget such an experience! You can have a beautiful look over the square and the Duomo from the restaurant on top roof of Rinascente (free access) or, on the opposite side of the square, from the top of "Museo del 900". The Duomo... well...... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
