These are the large ferry boats taken from the big terminal building in Stresa not the little private boats. It took us a little while to work out how the different routes worked and prices, as the info posted at the window was a little confusing. The Borromeo palace has a limited number of rooms open to the public, but unique, especially the stone grotto rooms. Also wonderful Flemish unicorn tapestries, with vibrant colors. Well worth a visit.

Isola Bella & Isola Madre deserve a whole day to fully appreciate them.
The gardens on both islands are superb. The friendly white peacocks on Isola Bella are not to be missed.

Great trip to do and visit the stunnign islands.. each has its own character, and would recommend visiting Isla Bella on which is located the Borromea house and gardens.. stunning and magical. Well worth a visit

The islands are impressive to see but all the shops on the island are the same. Its priced right to take a boat there but when you on Bella island you must pay again to go into the museum and garden.
