We were traveling in the Northern Italy for 16 days and were fortunate to be able to attend the cooking class with Mareno.. He and his family were a delight and we couldn't have asked for a more well planned day. The food was outstanding and the preparation was to perfection. Hst wit and personality made the day even more... More

You see all the five star reviews beforehand and you think - is it that good Well yes it is I'm a fractionally fussy eater but even I coped and even enjoyed all the food We had cheesy mushroom risotto, ricotta tortolloni with tomato sauce and veal stew Lovely flavours - the amount of food and drink we consumed possibly... Having attended Chef Moreno's class once before, we thought it would be a perfect experience to share with our friends and family the day before our wedding. Chef Moreno and Rosella welcomed all of us (we weren't exactly a small group) into their restaurant and created an incredible meal. Chef Moreno taught us how to make tortelloni (hands-on experience!) and... More

We went with our 20something son. We learned how to make homemade pasta, risotto, pork roast, so many more things and tips. You get to eat the meal after you've prepared it!. We asked for his suggestions on a cheese and he took us to his butcher and helped us pick one out! He picked us up at the ferry... More

We had attempted to reserve this about 3 weeks in advance of our visit, but Moreno had said the class was full the only day we had available. Thanks to a timely phone call from the staff at Hotel Du Lac, we found out there was a last minute no show... so we requested a pickup, and 15 minutes later... More

We had a wonderful time with Moreno, learning and watching his cooking demonstration. Fabulous food, fantastic wines and also meeting new friends. If you have the time while staying in the Varenna area, make a reservation......it's a must do!

Awesome, fun time had by all. Enjoyable, relaxed class of 5 American couples. There were a couple no-shows due to it being a beautiful sunny day after more than a week of rain. Moreno is authentic, fun, has a great sense of humor, and relates well with everyone in the class. He is very attentive to questions. We had a... More

We had a fantastic time taking Moreno's cooking class! I'll note up front that this is more of a cooking demonstration than a hands-on class. When I first realized that I have to say I was a little unsure, but after I got there and settled in I realized it would be an extremely entertaining day. We were greeted by... More

One of our most memorable dining experiences in Italy. The food was original with the best fresh ingredients. The owners (chef and his wife) were excellent hosts and they provided transportation. A real plus for novice travelers. The cost was very reasonable. Don't miss it ! It was great !

We had such a fantastic time thanks to Moreno's fun personality, warm hospitality, and excellence in his trade. He kindly picked a few of us up at the ferry dock at 10am (we were staying in Bellagio, less than 15 minutes by boat) and drove us to his restaurant in the nearby village where he grew up. There were 11... More
