One of the most beautiful examples of the romanic art in Italy. By sure the best church to be seen in Como even not located in the center of the city but few minutes by feet from the center. Visit also if possible the "chiostro" at the left side of the church front now part of the Insubria University.

Church in the middle of the historic centre of Como. Not any special artistic interest, the outside is too bold and lacking of any decoration.

Beautiful romanesque-style church, full of amazing frescoes. Pretty much a straight line from San Giovanni station so very easy to get to. Well worth a trip.

A bit far from Como center especially when you decide to walk under the midday sun, but you are rewarded of the effort when you discover the beauty, the simplicity and grace of this roman basilica. It seems that very few tourist come to this place although the taste of heaven is far more higher here than in the Cathedral... More

One of the most beautiful and best preserved large romanic churches I've seen. Structuarlly is similar to the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, but since it is much less modified, iti retains most of its original atmosphere and charm. Many tourists do not visit it because it is not in central Como: hence, much quieter and more silent - which... More

In its present form (aD 1100, rebuilt on a much older church) it is one of the foremost examples of romanic architecture, found in many art history textbooks! Unfortunately it is out of the centre, maybe 1/2 hour on foot from the tip of the lake, but it is worth the effort. The strong point here is the architecture, but... More

It's a beautiful church somewhat out-of-the-way but worth the effort to see. The frescoes in the back of the church were very impressive. An added curiosity are the glass crypts containing the remains of the first Comasco bishops.

Quiet, presumably as out of the main town centre and close to the wonderful cemetery this church was worth a visit. Contains some interesting relics.

An evocative old church that takes you back in time, this church has an imposing exterior. The interior has beautiful frescoes by a student of Giotto. If you are an art lover, see these and imagine the church of Giotto's time. It is about a 20-minute brisque walk from the main piazza.

I especcially enjoyed the affresco. Must be seen if you like roman style. I would also suggest to visit the next-door university.
