This beautiful cathedral is a must see for anyone coming to Lake Como. The real gems are the tapestries that date to 15th century. Midnight mass on Christmas Eve will leave you revived.

I liked the small square of the Duomo, a calm and cozy corner where you can find nice restaurant and coffee shop. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is commonly described as the last Gothic cathedral built in Italy. The imposing west front features a rose window and a portal between two statues of... More

This is one of the most amazing churches I have seen with the detailed fine work on the outside and the inside, including gorgeous ceiling and stained glass really inspiring. You should stop in and see this magnificent structure.

Been to Como many times and walked around this daily but never went in until we had to kill a few hours and what a surprise. A church that feels warm and friendly and we took in a hours worth of Organ recital which was very pleasant. and as usual stunning building.

Very impressive interior. Was able to visit on a normal day then again for a concert, when it was absolutely packed, standing room only. Very atmospheric. Gorgeous ceiling and stained glass.

Please do not think I am berating this ancient cathedral which is certainly worth a visit. However I am afraid I am spoiled as I have been to some of the most magnificent cathedrals in Italy and also stunning small ones. One of the small ones which is also the site of a miracle is located in Cannobio and is... More

This small cathedral, by Italian standards, has a lot of beautiful works of art, both inside and outside. Its superb gothic facade is best admired while sitting at an outdoor table in one of the many restaurants in the piazza. The lighting in this church was poor during my daytime visit and this made admiring the artwork a bit more... More

I hate to give it 3 starts, but it's not in the top 10 of European Cathedrals. As one reviewer put it, you wouldn't come to Como to see the Cathedral. But if you are in Como, come see the cathedral. It is beautiful. I would recommend a guided tour (there are many tour operators based out of Milan that... More

Free entry and impressive Cathedral for the region. Was a good side trip whilst at Como, however I would not have made the trip to see the cathedral in itself.

Beautiful church. Statues and saint figures in marble carved to perfection. A magic place. Worth the visit.
