Churches dominate Europe. Every town and village has one so you can get quite blaise about them all. However this church with its huge dome is quite spectacular so don't miss paying it a visit.

This was my last stop of Italy and during the whole trip I had visited 26 churches in all, big and small but, I had no fatigue at all when I came here. Como is famous for the lake undoubtedly and yet its Cuomo is enough exquisite and solemnly speaking of its magnitude and beauty. No big names' paintings? Just... More

Very beautiful building.....but be warned you cannot enter if you are wearing shorts! Also steer clear of the café/bar opposite (Duomo bar)...dreadful service and the food is even worse!!

Possibly the most ornate interior of a church or cathedral I've ever seen. The carving of the wood surrounding the organ is just tremendous.

I was thoroughly impressed. Have seen several cathedrals, castles and monuments but this place ranks up there. The main room is absolutely enormous and has to be seen to be understood. I'm not even the religious type but there was clearly some time spent making this this what it is today (apparently took them several centuries to complete). Stop by... More

Certainly worth a visit when you are in Como. Very nice Duomo, bigger then you would expect in Como.

The cathedral is large, busy with tourists and some worshippers and yet it held a strongly spiritual atmosphere. It was a little dark inside - some might say a bit gloomy? - but it has some fine windows. Although we didn't feel it offered anything distinctively different to merit a long visit, it is one of the main attractions most... More

As Duomos go, this isn't as old as Florence or Milano, but just as magnificent in it's own way The tapestries were a surprise and breathtaking. It's worth finding the small but extremely old orthodox church behind the Duomo.

I spent more time gazing at the facade and the north side of the building than I did the inside. One of the most spectacular churches in Italy from the outside. I found the tapestries interesting but a little overwhelming as I came in. The interior ornamental pieces are modest compared to some other Italian churches but are nonetheless still... More
