My main reason for riding the funicular railway was to see and take pictures of the amazing views from way up high. Unfortunately, if you aren't lucky enough to be right in the front on either end, that opportunity is pretty much non-existent. The side windows are extremely tiny so that didn't allow for seeing much of those views much... More

The funicular building at the lower end has an interesting facade. Then, the funicular carriage itself has accommodating seats and the itinerary lets you catch glimpses at the town from different heights. Also, at the upper end of the funicular, there is a restaurant/cafe. Our problem is that we went on a sunny day, when the sun was already setting... More

Best part of our visit to Capri. We walked up to Como (big mistake) too far for my legs. We came down on the curricular which is reasonable priced. We also sang the song!

We were lucky enough to be the first through the turnstiles and get the first cabin where we stood in the glass vestibule. This gave us a great view looking down at the lake as we headed up. Once at the top we viewed the machinery room and the displays showing how the cables are attached etc, then walked through... More

If you are in Como this is worth doing. It is not too pricey & the view up top is great! If you have a car you could just drive up the other side but what fun is that? Go up, walk around & maybe have a drink & enjoy the view. Coming down the view is pretty great too

Only as a first-time rider, seating provided an unexpected exercise. Otherwise, price of 5.50EU per person roundtrip was completely reasonable. View (and eats) at the top made it completely worthwhile.

You cold take it if you wish to see the town and the lake from above. But note that not only you could wish that, and the lines at ticket office are common. Even if you have 'Io viagiio ovunque' card you should collect a free ticket to pass the turnstile. New cars running here have panoramic windows in both... More

Takes only 7 min to go to the top. If the weather is great you can see all the area and enjoy panoramic views over the city and the lake of Como. The cost was 5,5 euro per person to go up and down. We enjoyed walking around the village of Brunate, took great pictures and had nice, relaxing coffee... More

We turned up at the funicular to find it was closed for repairs for the day. So we took the substitute bus (from the nearby bus station). In some ways this was almost a better adventure (I imagine), as we got to admire the changing views in more than one direction, as well as the skill of the driver, and... More
