Climbing up the mountainside at an amazing angle to the top made for an interesting ride! The fare was 5.20 euros for round-trip. Since it was off-season and somewhat cool, it was not crowded. We arrived in time to enjoy a prosecco spritzer and the glorious sunset overlooking Lake Como. Afterwards a terrific dinner and back down the mountain. Unforgettable!

The ride takes about 10 minutes, the trip is nice, the price is fair but I wasn't impressed at all. I was in between this and Bellagio. I did both is one afternoon. I arrived late at Bellagio and couldn't see very much but at least I caught the sunset which was amazing. If I knew that the trip to Brunate... More

offers great view over the lake, and takes to the starting place of several trekking paths. We took the path to the lighthouse and we enjoyed it!

Perfect view of the lake and some nice exploring at the top of this hill. Grab a nice bite to eat at the pizza place with panoramic view of the lake. Walk up to the lighthouse.

Thoroughly recommend taking the Funicular on the edge of Lake Como up the mountain to Brunate. Easy to find on the righthand shore facing the lake and 5 minutes walk from the train station. Costs 5.50 euros return and well worth your time and money. Takes approximately 10 minutes to get to the top. Fast exit and for those of... More

The short trip on the funicular will take you well above the lake, where you can see wonderful views. There are some restaurants and cafes at the top, where you can enjoy a coffee while enjoying the view. There are paths for walks at the top, where you can get a glimpse of some of the gorgeous Italian houses up... More

When in Como it's a must to go by the funicular to Brunate. The funicular costs (3e one way and 5.50 return) the price is very resonable and very much worth it. From the funicular you can see it's possible to go up by foot but it looks tough and i wouldn't recommend it. The view while in the funicular... More

We took this funicular in order to see the views of Como, and it was breathtaking. It feels safe, not expensive (5 euros I think), and offers a great view at the top. The ride lasts about 5 minutes and is very smooth. At the top, it is possible to see the engine and machinery that makes this funicular function... More

What a great view all over Como and it's wonderful Lake. Went to the top where there is a small church and community with a few shops ,restaurants, souvenir places etc. Enjoyed a coffee whilst taking in the view.

We have read on traveller guides about this funicular. But the views in the above village of Brunate were definitely over our expectations. We could see all the Alps in western direction including Mont Blanc. Unforgettable. Excellente and puntual service.
