Nice seven minute ride uphill (and down!) with great views. Wotrth ascending to eat in the restaurants in Brunate (Cacciatore is my favourite and fully recommended - alsothough slightly tucked away). Worth the walk to the Lighthouse on top of the hill (or take the military bus from the square outside the Funicular station). Walks to local fountain and viewing... More

This is a fun trip. If you like a quiet trip it is ideal in the nights esp on a clear day. Did both day & night. My fav was the late evening ride...spectacular!

Only if you don't have other attractions !!! the major problem that its too crowded, with children its very uncomfortable. The view above is nice but it recommended only if its not too crowded.

This is very straight up the hill and the trip is surprisingly silent and comfortable... Not to forget the amazing view from the top. We tried the walking down hill through the forest. Beautiful but deserves proper hiking shoes - not the normal sport shoes we had!

It's €5 for the round trip up the Funicular. It is worth it. It runs about 4 times an hour. Best get a seat facing the direction of travel. The climb is very steep. It takes about 8 mins to get up to the top. There are some coffee shops at the top. It's nice to have a wander around... More

A short but scenic trip. The mechanics of the funicular are interesting in themselves. Worth doing on your stay in Como. Inexpensive too.

You must do this when you go to Como. The views are to die for!!! And what's more you must do the tour of the mountain when you get to the top!! Andreas is brilliant! He uses an old Army jeep to take you around and he drives like a maniac (but a good maniac! If there's such a thing...!).... More

Visited Como on a day visit from Milan. We didn't know there was a Funiculare. What great fun it is. Adult return fare is eur5.50. For the most stunning views of Como while travelling, try to get into the bottom most carriage. It starts the journey upwards inside a tunnel, then bursts out into the light after a couple of...
