Fairly small for a famous garden but the location is stunning, lovely spaces and worth a visit. Can link this to walking along the Greenway

Whilst I'm sure this is a wonderful place to visit. The reality is opening times are very contradictory. We visited on a Wednesday to find path closed and no boats taking tourists. Website suggests the villa is closed Monday and Wednesday. Contrary to this the taxi boat information says its closed on Thursdays and Fridays!! My suggestion visit weekends and... More

First inhabited by a Cardinal, then bought by an exceptional explorer that donated it to an NGO after his death, this place is an absolute must see. Make sure you reserve a guide to tell you the amazing story of Monzino, last owner of this magnificent property full of surprises : amazing art, furniture, library (full of alpinism and geography... Amazing! Unbelievable! Fantastic! The rare place in the world where you feel inspiration and powerful energy of the Nature! The place where you really believe in God's Creature! The price of the entrance ticket is EUR 7, the round boat trip to the Villa - plus EUR 7. Any day except Thursday and Friday one can reach the Villa by... More

We visited this magnificent and historic villa while staying in Bellagio on the lake. The boat ride itself would have been impressive enough, but the villa and its grounds were extraordinary. The on site tour guide was a young woman who was both knowledgable and witty, and she helped make it a great afternoon. At the time, I did not... More

I visited it with family, arrived in the taxi boat (just 10 minutes from the shore, at Lenno) such a beautiful villa, breath taking!! It is a very romantic place as well, and a great one if you want to take beautiful pictures.

We only had time to visit one villa during our trip to Como, and we picked this one based on the reviews and photos. We didn't see the water taxi when were in Lenno, but other people seemed to have arrived by boat. We walked from Lenno to the villa, it is about a 20 minute walk, although we tend... More

We took a water taxi from Lenno and took some marvellous photos of the Villa from the boat. The day was sunny and the water was like a millpond. The villa was built by a cardinal and then the Italian explorer Monzino bought and renovated it. The views to all sides of the lake are absolutely stunning, particularly towards Bellagio.... More
