Cyclists Mecca

This is a must for all cyclists. A pilgrimage to the Madonna is required at least once in your life. A homage to all cyclists through history.

If you like to cycle and are near Lake Como, this climb is a must. It's quite steep in parts but not too long and is a great introuction to some of the more challenging climbs in the region. The chapel and museum at the summit are special and worth the stop. Rent a bike from Il Perlo Panorama hotel.... More

We've been there on our way to Bellagio - not the road by the lake shore, the one which goes through the land between Como and Lecco. It's a magnificent view over lake Como, nice museum for byke-lovers. There are some nice hostels and restaurants where you can have lunch, enjoy a good espresso and then drive down to Bellagio

This is a must for cycling enthusiasts as it is a mecca for cyclists. Apparently the Madonna has been adopted by cyclists as their patron (didn't know that one...) and this church celebrates the sport with bicycles inside the church and photos of famous cyclists adorning the walls. There is the odd yellow jersey hanging over the entrance too. In... More

Fantastic, and hard ride up from Bellagio. The old chapel has a nice collection of old shirts, bikes and other items. Nice experience.

We set off down hill to the coast road along the Lake to Valbrona - Asso... More

A great view and very Interesting. We rode up there and whilst it was very challenging, it was definitely worth the effort. Anyone who loves bike riding will appreciate the reward at the top.

Just simple a must do for cyclists. Take your bike and climb from Bellagio. You can make it a nice and short: past Ghisallo keep for a while following to the south, until there is an eastbound road to the lake which you follow again to Bellagio. Take some time at Ghisallo to admire the church and especially the indoor... More
