We were recommended this cooking experience with Chief Luigi Grandola at his restaurant in Bellagio. He picked us up from the bus as we were staying in Como. A quick 10 min drive and we were having coffee and getting ready with apron on to start our course. Chief Luigi walked us through his herb garden explaining with passion his... More

I have done this cooking class twice , the chef is on TV cooking shows a bit like the Jamie Oliver for Italy , he is funny and very informative . A definite must do when visiting Bellagio .well worth the money and you get to eat the food as they serve you afterwards with wine .

We were a group of four that signed up for Chef Luigis lessons. Six others were with us. We were in the kitchen learning how to cook Italian. What fun! We learned a lot, and enjoyed chef Luigis passion for cooking and life. A once in a lifetime experience well worth the price!

If you have an interest in food or cooking, you shouldn't go past a trip to the Chef Luigi cooking class at the Salice Blu restaurant just outside Bellagio. Chef Luigi is a most interesting character, passionate about food and cooking. Chef Luigi picked us up from our Bellagio hotel and took us to his family restaurant where after a... More

First off, Luigi is quite a character (in a good way). He's oozing with culinary passion, and it's really touching to learn how much his late father influenced his obsession with food, quality, and doing things the right way. Luigi's restaurant, Salice Blu (Blue Willow), is perched high above the quaint town of Bellagio. It has amazing views. Luigi picked... More

My wife and I had an enjoyable cooking lesson with Chef Luigi. We were joined by one other person so the interaction was very comfortable and personable. We started in the morning with Chef Luigi picking us up in his van (which was very clean) and after picking up the third person and dishwasher along the way, we made it... More

As this had fantastic reviews we (a family of 3 adults and one teenager) decided to try it, we had been to many cooking experiences whilst on holiday and really enjoyed them. The place and kitchen itself was very professional, with a glass door and a very impressive dish washer. We learned how to make a risotto, which was very very... More

It began when Chef Luigi personally addressed our inquiry, picked us up from the ferry and drove us to Il Salice Blu, the family restaurant started by his father and uncle. The class begins with a tour of the garden, includes lessons in stuffing zucchini flowers, pasta making, risotto, and a wonderful chocolate desert. The kitchen staff help along the... More

8 of us had a private cooking class with Chef Luigi in the restaurant kitchen for my birthday. The class was a nice mixture of preparing things ourselves (different kinds of pasta, risotto, gnocchi) and watching Chef Luigi prepare (creams and custards for dessert). Chef Luigi was cheeky and very funny, keeping us all entertained and happy. The restaurant is... More

We had a terrific time at Salice Blu - the cooking lesson was great. There were only 3 of us so we were in the restaurant kitchen rather than in the cooking school room. Luigi kept us busy with pasta, gnocchi, apple tarts and risotto. My husband went to a class last year with our daughter, and said he'd happily... More
