I wish that we could have seen the house. However, the views from the garden were lovely. We did not learn much about the horticulture, more about the history of the property. The local tour guide was very sweet. This was not a strenuous walk although it was a bit hilly.

Perhaps not spectacular, but certainly worth an hour or two. Don't just race through ... slow down and enjoy the beauty, peace and tranquility. Cost was 6.50 Euros for a "one-day pass". Consider the two-day pass if walking regularly between Bellagio and San Giovanni.

These gardens are a delight. Walk along the lake edge first, and then up and back through the higher paths. The landscaping is exquisite. We went in summer and it was gorgeous, but in spring, when the azaleas and rhododendrons are flowering it must be breathtaking, Take a bottle of water so you can stay awhile and enjoy the views.

Lovely, peaceful, superbly well kept gardens. It was a nice walk of only about 5 minutes along the edge of the lake from the ferry port at Bellagio to get there. Not very expensive for adults and the kids were free. Good for an hour or two just to wander along the edge of the lake and take it all... More

It was a nice garden but a little pricey for 45 minutes walking the garden. Only a few flowers were blooming this season. The gardens are very well kept. The villa is not open.

The Villa is a 15 minute walk out of the town but well worth it. The gardens are lovely and the views across the lake exceptional. Get a hand stamp at the far gate so that you can re-enter when you go to explore part of the pilgrim route and old houses outside the gates. The wedding gondola pulled up... More

Immediately upon walking into the gardens from the Bellagio entrance we filled with a mixture of emotions including amazement, peace, jealously and sheer wonder. What an amazing tranquil place. I did not know that azaleas and camelias grew that large - must be brilliant during Spring. The Japanese section was beautiful.

Magnificent gardens and setting, providing a beautiful walk, at reasonable entry cost, and the right to re-enter on the day

Villa Melzi is just a short walk of about half a kilometre west of the main Bellagio strip and is set on quite extensive grounds along the lake. The gardens wind through perhaps 10 acres of grounds and have an English formal feel to it. It would be sensational in winter with the extensive camellia groves, or spring with the... More
